इ॒न्धे राजा॒ सम॒र्यो नमो॑भि॒र्यस्य॒ प्रती॑क॒माहु॑तं घृ॒तेन॑ । नरो॑ ह॒व्येभि॑रीळते स॒बाध॒ आग्निरग्र॑ उ॒षसा॑मशोचि ॥ इन्धे राजा समर्यो नमोभिर्यस्य प्रतीकमाहुतं घृतेन । नरो हव्येभिरीळते सबाध आग्निरग्र उषसामशोचि ॥
The royal (Agni), the mater (of the sacrifice), is kindled with praises, he whose person is invoked with(offerings of) butter, whom men associated worship with oblations, Agni, who is lighted before the dawn.
english translation
अ॒यमु॒ ष्य सुम॑हाँ अवेदि॒ होता॑ म॒न्द्रो मनु॑षो य॒ह्वो अ॒ग्निः । वि भा अ॑कः ससृजा॒नः पृ॑थि॒व्यां कृ॒ष्णप॑वि॒रोष॑धीभिर्ववक्षे ॥ अयमु ष्य सुमहाँ अवेदि होता मन्द्रो मनुषो यह्वो अग्निः । वि भा अकः ससृजानः पृथिव्यां कृष्णपविरोषधीभिर्ववक्षे ॥
This great Agni has been known among men as invoker (of the gods), the giver of deligh, the mighty; hehas spread (in the firmament), he, the darkpathed at large upon the earth, is nourished by the plants.

कया॑ नो अग्ने॒ वि व॑सः सुवृ॒क्तिं कामु॑ स्व॒धामृ॑णवः श॒स्यमा॑नः । क॒दा भ॑वेम॒ पत॑यः सुदत्र रा॒यो व॒न्तारो॑ दु॒ष्टर॑स्य सा॒धोः ॥ कया नो अग्ने वि वसः सुवृक्तिं कामु स्वधामृणवः शस्यमानः । कदा भवेम पतयः सुदत्र रायो वन्तारो दुष्टरस्य साधोः ॥
By what oblation, Agni, do you clothe our praise? What offering do you, when glorified, accept? When,giver of good, may we be the possessors and enjoyers of perfect and unmolested riches?
english translation
प्रप्रा॒यम॒ग्निर्भ॑र॒तस्य॑ शृण्वे॒ वि यत्सूर्यो॒ न रोच॑ते बृ॒हद्भाः । अ॒भि यः पू॒रुं पृत॑नासु त॒स्थौ द्यु॑ता॒नो दैव्यो॒ अति॑थिः शुशोच ॥ प्रप्रायमग्निर्भरतस्य शृण्वे वि यत्सूर्यो न रोचते बृहद्भाः । अभि यः पूरुं पृतनासु तस्थौ द्युतानो दैव्यो अतिथिः शुशोच ॥
This Agni is greatly celebrated by the instrumental tutor of the rite when he shines resplendent as the sun; hewho overcame Puru in battle, and shone glorious as the guest of the gods.

अस॒न्नित्त्वे आ॒हव॑नानि॒ भूरि॒ भुवो॒ विश्वे॑भिः सु॒मना॒ अनी॑कैः । स्तु॒तश्चि॑दग्ने शृण्विषे गृणा॒नः स्व॒यं व॑र्धस्व त॒न्वं॑ सुजात ॥ असन्नित्त्वे आहवनानि भूरि भुवो विश्वेभिः सुमना अनीकैः । स्तुतश्चिदग्ने शृण्विषे गृणानः स्वयं वर्धस्व तन्वं सुजात ॥
In you, Agni, are many offerings; do you with all your flames be propitious; favourably hear (the praises)of the worshipper; and do you of auspicious manifestation being glorified, spontaneously magnify (your) person.
