तेनेदं निर्मितं सर्वं मायया काञ्चनं वनम् । पुरा दानवमुख्यानां विश्वकर्मा बभूव ह ॥ ४-५१-११

येनेदं काञ्चनं दिव्यं निर्मितं भवनोत्तमम् । स तु वर्षसहस्राणि तपस्तप्त्वा महावने ॥ ४-५१-१२

पितामहाद्वरं लेभे सर्वमौशनसं धनम् । वनं विधाय बलवान्सर्वकामेश्वरस्तदा ॥ ४-५१-१३
- seeking the favour of Brahma, the creator and obtained a boon that he should inherit all the wealth of Usanas (Shukra). Then the mighty Maya who received the power of (executing) desires created this mansion . - [4-51-13]

उवास सुखितः कालं कञ्चिदस्मिन्महावने । तमप्सरसि हेमायां सक्तं दानवपुङ्गवम् ॥ ४-५१-१४
- and lived here happily for some time in this dense forest. Seeing this great demon in love with a heavenly apsara (nymph) called Hema - [4-51-14]

विक्रम्यैवाशनिं गृह्य जघानेत्रः पुरन्दरः । इदं च ब्रह्मणा दत्तं हेमायै वनमुत्तमम् ॥ ४-५१-१५
- Lord Indra with all his might attacked him with his thunderbolt. Thus the creator Brahma gave to Hema this wonderful forest . - [4-51-15]
