स तत्प्रकर्षन् हरीणां महद्बलं बभूव वीरः पवनात्मजः कपिः । गताम्बुदे व्योम्नि विशुद्धमण्डलः शशीव नक्षत्रगणोपशोभितः ॥ ४-४४-१६
Like the moon adorned by hosts of stars in the cloudless sky, the mighty heroic Hanuman, the great son of the Windgod, shone in the midst of the army of monkeys. [4-44-16]

अतिबल बलमाश्रितस्तवाहं हरिवरविक्रम विक्रमैरनल्पैः । पवनसुत यथाऽभिगम्यते सा जनकसुता हनुमं स्तथा कुरुष्व ॥ ४-४४-१७
(Rama said) 'O Hanuman son of the Wind-god, O valiant among the Vanaras, I bank on your strength. Do whatever you can with your mighty valour so that the daughter of Janaka can be found.' [4-44-17]
