महेन्द्रहिमवद्विन्ध्यकैलासशिखरेषु च । मन्दरे पाण्डुशिखरे पञ्चशैलेषु ये स्थिताः ॥ ४-३७-२
The monkeys residing at the five mountains of Mahendra, Himavan, Vindhya, Kailasa and the white-peaked mount Mandara - [4-37-2]
english translation
तरुणादित्यवर्णेषु भ्राजमानेषु सर्वतः । पर्वतेषु समुद्रान्ते पश्चिमायां च ये दिशि ॥ ४-३७-३
- those monkeys (residing) on the western mountains, on the sea shore and on mount Udaya shining like the rising Sun - [4-37-3]

आदित्यभवने चैव गिरौ सन्ध्याभ्रसन्निभे । पद्मातालवनं भीमं संश्रिता हरिपुङ्गवाः ॥ ४-३७-४
- monkeys like dark clouds shining in the twilight Sun, on the mountain where the Sun rises, those at the fierce Padmatala garden and . - [4-37-4]

अञ्जनाम्बुदसङ्काशाः कुञ्जरप्रतिमौजसः । अञ्जने पर्वते चैव ये वसन्ति प्लवङ्गमाः ॥ ४-३७-५
- those monkeys dwelling at the Anjana mountain who resemble dark clouds like collyrium and are as strong as elephants - [4-37-5]
