'Vali whirled him round and round and threw him downroaring. Blood flowed from Dundubhi's ears. ॥ 4-11-41॥

तयोस्तु क्रोधसंरम्भात्परस्परजयैषिणोः । युद्धं समभवद्घोरं दुन्दुभेर्वानरस्यच ॥ ४-११-४२

'Each one of them was highly agitated and angry trying to win over the other. A terrific fight took place between Dundubhi and Vali. ॥ 4-11-42॥

अयुद्ध्यत तदा वाली शक्रतुल्यपराक्रमः । मुष्टिभिर्जानुभिश्चैव शिलाभिः पादपैस्तथा ॥ ४-११-४३

'Then Vali who was equal to Indra in prowess fought, hitting him with fists, knees, rocks and trees. ॥ 4-11-43॥

ayuddhyata tadA vAlI zakratulyaparAkramaH । muSTibhirjAnubhizcaiva zilAbhiH pAdapaistathA ॥ 4-11-43

परस्परं घ्नतो स्तत्र वानरासुरयोस्तदा । आसीदसुरो युद्धे शक्रसूनुर्व्यवर्धत ॥ ४-११-४४

'Then as the monkey and demon fought pouncing on each other, the prowess of Dundubhi got diminished and that of Vali, the son of Indra, increased. ॥ 4-11-44॥

व्यापारवीर्यधैर्यैश्च परिक्षीणं पराक्रमैः । तं तु दुन्दुभिमुद्यम्य धरण्यामभ्यपातयत् ॥ ४-११-४५

Dundubhi fell down, with his strength, courage and prowess dwindled. He ( Vali ) lifted him and dashed it down on the ground. ॥ 4-11-45॥
