यो हि मत्तं प्रमत्तं वा सुप्तं वा रहितं भृशम् । हन्यात्स भ्रूणहा लोके त्वद्विधं मदमोहितम् ॥ ४-११-३६
'Whoever kills a person, who is drunk or is heedless or is asleep or without weapons or stupified by lust in this world, is equal to a killer of a foetus in the womb.' ॥ 4-11-36॥
english translation
yo hi mattaM pramattaM vA suptaM vA rahitaM bhRzam । hanyAtsa bhrUNahA loke tvadvidhaM madamohitam ॥ 4-11-36
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस प्रहस्याब्रवीन्मन्दं क्रोधात्तमसुरोत्तमम् । विसृज्य ताः स्त्रियस्सर्वास्ताराप्रभृतिकास्तदा ॥ ४-११-३७
'Then, Vali sent away Tara and all other women slowly and replied angrily to the foolish demon with a mischievous smile ॥ 4-11-37॥

sa prahasyAbravInmandaM krodhAttamasurottamam । visRjya tAH striyassarvAstArAprabhRtikAstadA ॥ 4-11-37
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमत्तोऽयमिति मा मंस्था यद्यभीतोऽसि संयुगे । मदोऽयं सम्प्रहारेऽस्मिन्वीरपानं समर्थ्यताम् ॥ ४-११-३८
- 'Do not consider me drunken. This drink will serve as a warrior's drink in the combat. Be ready, if you are not afraid of a combat.' ॥ 4-11-38॥

matto'yamiti mA maMsthA yadyabhIto'si saMyuge । mado'yaM samprahAre'sminvIrapAnaM samarthyatAm ॥ 4-11-38

'Having addressed thus in a rage, Vali removed the golden garland gifted by Indra, his father, and stood ready for the combat. ॥ 4-11-39॥

'Vali, the elephant like monkey then held the mountain like Dundubhi by the horns and struck him down, roaring loudly. ॥ 4-11-40॥
