इमे वयं यत्प्रिययैव तन्वा सत्त्वेन सृष्टा बहिरन्तराविः । गतिं न सूक्ष्मामृषयश्च विद्महे कुतोऽसुराद्या इतरप्रधानाः ।। ८-५-३१ ।।

sanskrit

Since our bodies are made of sattva-guṇa, we, the demigods, are internally and externally situated in goodness. All the great saints are also situated in that way. Therefore, if even we cannot understand the Supreme Personality of Godhead, what is to be said of those who are most insignificant in their bodily constitutions, being situated in the modes of passion and ignorance? How can they understand the Lord? Let us offer our respectful obeisances unto Him. ।। 8-5-31 ।।

english translation

चूँकि हमारे शरीर सत्त्वगुण से निर्मित हैं इसलिए हम देवगण भीतर तथा बाहर से सतोगुण में स्थित हैं। सारे सन्त पुरुष भी इसी प्रकार स्थित हैं। अतएव यदि हम भगवान् को न भी समझ सकते हों तो उन नगण्य प्राणियों के विषय में क्या कहा जाये जो रजो तथा तमो गुणों में स्थित हैं? भला वे भगवान् को कैसे समझ सकते हैं? हम उन भगवान् को सादर नमस्कार करते हैं। ।। ८-५-३१ ।।

पादौ महीयं स्वकृतैव यस्य चतुर्विधो यत्र हि भूतसर्गः । स वै महापूरुष आत्मतन्त्रः प्रसीदतां ब्रह्म महाविभूतिः ।। ८-५-३२ ।।

sanskrit

On this earth there are four kinds of living entities, who are all created by Him. The material creation rests on His lotus feet. He is the great Supreme Person, full of opulence and power. May He be pleased with us. ।। 8-5-32 ।।

english translation

इस पृथ्वी पर चार प्रकार के जीव हैं और ये सारे के सारे उन्हीं के द्वारा उत्पन्न किये गये हैं। यह भौतिक सृष्टि उनके चरणकमलों पर टिकी है। वे एश्वर्य तथा शक्ति से पूर्ण परम पुरुष हैं। वे हम पर प्रसन्न हों। ।। ८-५-३२ ।।

अम्भस्तु यद्रेत उदारवीर्यं सिध्यन्ति जीवन्त्युत वर्धमानाः । लोकास्त्रयोऽथाखिललोकपालाः प्रसीदतां ब्रह्म महाविभूतिः ।। ८-५-३३ ।।

sanskrit

The entire cosmic manifestation has emerged from water, and it is because of water that all living entities endure, live and develop. This water is nothing but the semen of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Therefore, may the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who has such great potency, be pleased with us. ।। 8-5-33 ।।

english translation

सारा विराट जगत जल से निकला है और जल ही के कारण सारे जीव स्थित हैं, जीवित रहते तथा विकसित होते हैं। यह जल भगवान् के वीर्य के अतिरिक्त और कुछ नहीं है। अतएव इतनी महान् शक्ति वाले भगवान् हम पर प्रसन्न हों। ।। ८-५-३३ ।।

सोमं मनो यस्य समामनन्ति दिवौकसां वै बलमन्ध आयुः । ईशो नगानां प्रजनः प्रजानां प्रसीदतां नः स महाविभूतिः ।। ८-५-३४ ।।

Soma, the moon, is the source of food grains, strength and longevity for all the demigods. He is also the master of all vegetation and the source of generation for all living entities. As stated by learned scholars, the moon is the mind of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. May that Supreme Personality of Godhead, the source of all opulences, be pleased with us. ।। 8-5-34 ।।

english translation

सोम (चन्द्रमा) समस्त देवताओं के लिए अन्न, बल तथा दीर्घायु का स्रोत है। वह सारी वनस्पतियों का स्वामी तथा सारे जीवों की उत्पत्ति का स्रोत भी है। जैसा कि विद्वानों ने कहा है, चन्द्रमा भगवान् का मन है। ऐसे समस्त ऐश्वर्यों के स्रोत भगवान् हम पर प्रसन्न हों। ।। ८-५-३४ ।।

अग्निर्मुखं यस्य तु जातवेदा जातः क्रियाकाण्डनिमित्तजन्मा । अन्तःसमुद्रेऽनुपचन् स्वधातून् प्रसीदतां नः स महाविभूतिः ।। ८-५-३५ ।।

sanskrit

Fire, which is born for the sake of accepting oblations in ritualistic ceremonies, is the mouth of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Fire exists within the depths of the ocean to produce wealth, and fire is also present in the abdomen to digest food and produce various secretions for the maintenance of the body. May that supremely powerful Personality of Godhead be pleased with us. ।। 8-5-35 ।।

english translation

अनुष्ठानों की आहुति ग्रहण करने के लिए उत्पन्न अग्नि भगवान् का मुख है। सागर की गहराइयों के भीतर भी सम्पत्ति उत्पन्न करने के लिए अग्नि रहती है और उदर में भोजन पचाने के लिए तथा शरीर पालन हेतु विभिन्न स्रावों को उत्पन्न करने के लिए भी अग्नि उपस्थित रहती है। ऐसे परम शक्तिमान भगवान् हम पर प्रसन्न हों। ।। ८-५-३५ ।।
