ब्रह्मोवाच अविक्रियं सत्यमनन्तमाद्यं गुहाशयं निष्कलमप्रतर्क्यम् । मनोऽग्रयानं वचसानिरुक्तं नमामहे देववरं वरेण्यम् ।। ८-५-२६ ।।

Lord Brahmā said: O Supreme Lord, O changeless, unlimited supreme truth. You are the origin of everything. Being all-pervading, You are in everyone’s heart and also in the atom. You have no material qualities. Indeed, You are inconceivable. The mind cannot catch You by speculation, and words fail to describe You. You are the supreme master of everyone, and therefore You are worshipable for everyone. We offer our respectful obeisances unto You. ।। 8-5-26 ।।

ब्रह्माजी ने कहा : हे परमेश्वर, हे अविकारी, असीम परम सत्य! आप हर वस्तु के उद्गम हैं। सर्वव्यापी होने के कारण आप प्रत्येक के हृदय में और परमाणु में भी रहते हैं। आपमें कोई भौतिक गुण नहीं पाये जाते। निस्सन्देह, आप अचिन्त्य हैं। मन आपको कल्पना से नहीं ग्रहण कर सकता और शब्द आपका वर्णन करने में असमर्थ हैं। आप सब के परम स्वामी हैं; अतएव आप हर एक के आराध्य हैं। हम आपको सादर नमस्कार करते हैं। ।। ८-५-२६ ।।

The Supreme Personality of Godhead directly and indirectly knows how everything, including the living force, mind and intelligence, is working under His control. He is the illuminator of everything and has no ignorance. He does not have a material body subject to the reactions of previous activities, and He is free from the ignorance of partiality and materialistic education. I therefore take shelter of the lotus feet of the Supreme Lord, who is eternal, all-pervading and as great as the sky and who appears with six opulences in three yugas [Satya, Tretā and Dvāpara]. ।। 8-5-27 ।।

भगवान् प्रत्यक्ष तथा अप्रत्यक्ष रूप से जानते रहते हैं कि किस प्रकार प्राण, मन तथा बुद्धि समेत प्रत्येक वस्तु उनके नियंत्रण में कार्य करती है। वे हर वस्तु के प्रकाशक हैं और अज्ञान उन्हें छू तक नहीं गया। उनका भौतिक शरीर नहीं होता जो पूर्वकर्मों के फलों से प्रभावित हो। वे पक्षपात तथा भौतिकतावादी विद्या के अज्ञान से मुक्त हैं। अतएव मैं उन भगवान् के चरणकमलों की शरण ग्रहण करता हूँ जो नित्य, सर्वव्यापक तथा आकाश के समान विशाल हैं और तीनों युगों (सत्य, त्रेता तथा द्वापर) में अपने षड्ऐश्वर्यों समेत प्रकट होते हैं। ।। ८-५-२७ ।।

अजस्य चक्रं त्वजयेर्यमाणं मनोमयं पञ्चदशारमाशु । त्रिनाभि विद्युच्चलमष्टनेमि यदक्षमाहुस्तमृतं प्रपद्ये ।। ८-५-२८ ।।

In the cycle of material activities, the material body resembles the wheel of a mental chariot. The ten senses [five for working and five for gathering knowledge] and the five life airs within the body form the fifteen spokes of the chariot’s wheel. The three modes of nature [goodness, passion and ignorance] are its center of activities, and the eight ingredients of nature [earth, water, fire, air, sky, mind, intelligence and false ego] comprise the rim of the wheel. The external, material energy moves this wheel like electrical energy. Thus the wheel revolves very quickly around its hub or central support, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is the Supersoul and the ultimate truth. We offer our respectful obeisances unto Him. ।। 8-5-28 ।।

भौतिक कार्यों के चक्र में, भौतिक शरीर मानसिक रथ के पहिये जैसा होता है। दस इन्द्रियाँ (पाँच कर्मेन्द्रियाँ तथा पाँच ज्ञानेन्द्रियाँ) तथा शरीर के भीतर के पाँच प्राण मिलकर रथ के पहिये के पन्द्रह अरे (तीलियाँ) बनाते हैं। प्रकृति के तीन गुण (सत्त्व, रजस् तथा तमस्) कार्यकलापों के केन्द्रबिन्दु हैं और प्रकृति के आठ अवयव (पृथ्वी, जल, अग्नि, वायु, आकाश, मन, बुद्धि तथा मिथ्या अहंकार) इस पहिए की बाहरी परिधि बनाते हैं। बहिरंगा भौतिक शक्ति इस पहिए को विद्युत् शक्ति की भाँति घुमाती है। इस प्रकार यह पहिया बड़ी तेजी से अपनी धुरी या केन्द्रीय आधार अर्थात् भगवान् के चारों ओर घूमता है, जो परमात्मा तथा चरम सत्य हैं। हम उन्हें सादर नमस्कार करते हैं। ।। ८-५-२८ ।।

The Supreme Personality of Godhead is situated in pure goodness [śuddha-sattva], and therefore He is eka-varṇa — the oṁkāra [praṇava]. Because the Lord is beyond the cosmic manifestation, which is considered to be darkness, He is not visible to material eyes. Nonetheless, He is not separated from us by time or space, but is present everywhere. Seated on His carrier, Garuḍa, He is worshiped by means of mystical yogic power by those who have achieved freedom from agitation. Let us all offer our respectful obeisances unto Him. ।। 8-5-29 ।।

भगवान् शुद्ध सत्त्व में स्थित हैं; अतएव वे एकवर्ण—ओङ्कार (प्रणव) हैं। चूँकि भगवान् अंधकार माने जाने वाले दृश्य जगत से परे हैं, अतएव वे भौतिक नेत्रों से नहीं दिखते। फिर भी वे दिक् या काल द्वारा हमसे पृथक् नहीं होते, अपितु वे सर्वत्र उपस्थित रहते हैं। अपने वाहन गरुड़ पर आसीन उनकी पूजा क्षोभ से मुक्ति पा चुके व्यक्तियों के द्वारा योग शक्ति से की जाती है। हम सभी उनको सादर नमस्कार करते हैं। ।। ८-५-२९ ।।

No one can overcome the Supreme Personality of Godhead’s illusory energy [māyā], which is so strong that it bewilders everyone, making one lose the sense to understand the aim of life. That same māyā, however, is subdued by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who rules everyone and who is equally disposed toward all living entities. Let us offer our obeisances unto Him. ।। 8-5-30 ।।

कोई भी व्यक्ति भगवान् की माया का पार नहीं पा सकता जो इतनी प्रबल होती है कि हर व्यक्ति इससे भ्रमित होकर जीवन के लक्ष्य को समझने की बुद्धि खो देता है। किन्तु वही माया उन भगवान् के वश में रहती है, जो सब पर शासन करते हैं और सभी जीवों पर समान दृष्टि रखते हैं। हम उन्हें नमस्कार करते हैं। ।। ८-५-३० ।।
