हरिश्चन्द्रो रन्तिदेव उञ्छवृत्तिः शिबिर्बलिः । व्याधः कपोतो बहवो ह्यध्रुवेण ध्रुवं गताः ॥ १०-७२-२१ ॥
Hariścandra, Rantideva, Uñchavṛtti Mudgala, Śibi, Bali, the legendary hunter and pigeon, and many others have attained the permanent by means of the impermanent. ॥ 10-72-21 ॥

हरिश्चंद्र, रन्तिदेव, उंचवृत्ति मुद्गल, शिबि, बाली, प्रसिद्ध शिकारी और कबूतर, और कई अन्य लोगों ने अनित्य के माध्यम से स्थायी को प्राप्त किया है। ॥ १०-७२-२१ ॥

Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: From the sound of their voices, their physical stature and the marks of bowstrings on their forearms, Jarāsandha could tell that his guests were of the royal order. He began to think he had seen them somewhere before. ॥ 10-72-22 ॥

शुकदेव गोस्वामी ने कहा: उनकी आवाज़ की ध्वनि, उनकी शारीरिक कद-काठी और उनकी बांहों पर धनुष की प्रत्यंचा के निशान से, जरासंध बता सकता था कि उसके मेहमान शाही परिवार के थे। वह सोचने लगा कि उसने उन्हें पहले भी कहीं देखा है। ॥ १०-७२-२२ ॥

राजन्यबन्धवो ह्येते ब्रह्मलिङ्गानि बिभ्रति । ददामि भिक्षितं तेभ्य आत्मानमपि दुस्त्यजम् ॥ १०-७२-२३ ॥
[Jarāsandha thought:] These are surely members of the royal order dressed as brāhmaṇas, but still I must grant their request for charity, even if they beg me for my own body. ॥ 10-72-23 ॥
english translation
[जरासंध ने सोचा:] ये निश्चित रूप से ब्राह्मणों के वेश में शाही आदेश के सदस्य हैं, लेकिन फिर भी मुझे दान के लिए उनका अनुरोध स्वीकार करना होगा, भले ही वे मुझसे मेरे शरीर के लिए भीख मांगें। ॥ १०-७२-२३ ॥

बलेर्नु श्रूयते कीर्तिर्वितता दिक्ष्वकल्मषा । ऐश्वर्याद्भ्रंशितस्यापि विप्रव्याजेन विष्णुना ॥ १०-७२-२४ ॥
Indeed, the spotless glories of Bali Mahārāja are heard throughout the world. Lord Viṣṇu, wishing to recover Indra’s opulence from Bali, appeared before him in the guise of a brāhmaṇa and made him fall from his powerful position. ॥ 10-72-24 ॥

दरअसल, बाली महाराज की बेदाग महिमा पूरी दुनिया में सुनी जाती है। भगवान विष्णु, बाली से इंद्र का ऐश्वर्य वापस पाने की इच्छा से, एक ब्राह्मण के भेष में उसके सामने प्रकट हुए और उसे उसकी शक्तिशाली स्थिति से गिरा दिया। ॥ १०-७२-२४ ॥

Though aware of the ruse and forbidden by his guru, Bali, king of the demons, still gave Viṣṇu the whole earth in charity. ॥ 10-72-25 ॥

यद्यपि राक्षसों के राजा बाली को अपने गुरु द्वारा मना किए गए छल का पता था, फिर भी उसने विष्णु को पूरी पृथ्वी दान में दे दी। ॥ १०-७२-२५ ॥
