दुष्टः शाखामृगः शाखामारूढः कम्पयन् द्रुमान् । चक्रे किलकिलाशब्दमात्मानं सम्प्रदर्शयन् ॥ १०-६७-११ ॥
The mischievous ape climbed a tree branch and then revealed his presence by shaking the trees and making the sound kilakilā. ॥ 10-67-11 ॥

शरारती वानर एक पेड़ की शाखा पर चढ़ गया और फिर पेड़ों को हिलाकर और किलकिला ध्वनि करके अपनी उपस्थिति प्रकट की। ॥ १०-६७-११ ॥

When Lord Baladeva’s consorts saw the ape’s impudence, they began to laugh. They were, after all, young girls who were fond of joking and prone to silliness. ॥ 10-67-12 ॥

जब भगवान बलदेव की पत्नियों ने वानर की धृष्टता देखी, तो वे हंसने लगे। आख़िरकार, वे युवा लड़कियाँ थीं जो मज़ाक करने की शौकीन थीं और मूर्खतापूर्ण थीं। ॥ १०-६७-१२ ॥

ता हेलयामास कपिर्भ्रूक्षेपैः सम्मुखादिभिः । दर्शयन् स्वगुदं तासां रामस्य च निरीक्षतः ॥ १०-६७-१३ ॥
Even as Lord Balarāma looked on, Dvivida insulted the girls by making odd gestures with his eyebrows, coming right in front of them, and showing them his anus. ॥ 10-67-13 ॥

Angered, Lord Balarāma, the best of fighters, hurled a rock at him, but the cunning ape dodged the rock and grabbed the Lord’s pot of liquor. ॥ 10-67-14 ॥

क्रोधित होकर, योद्धाओं में सर्वश्रेष्ठ, भगवान बलराम ने उन पर एक चट्टान फेंकी, लेकिन चालाक वानर ने चट्टान को चकमा दे दिया और भगवान का शराब का बर्तन छीन लिया। ॥ १०-६७-१४ ॥

Further infuriating Lord Balarāma by laughing and by ridiculing Him, wicked Dvivida then broke the pot and offended the Lord even more by pulling at the girls’ clothing. ॥ 10-67-15 ॥
