मुकुन्दोऽप्यक्षतबलो निस्तीर्णारिबलार्णवः । विकीर्यमाणः कुसुमैस्त्रिदशैरनुमोदितः ।। १०-५०-३६ ।।

sanskrit

Lord Mukunda had crossed the ocean of His enemy’s armies with His own military force completely intact. He received congratulations from the denizens of heaven, who showered Him with flowers. ।। 10-50-36 ।।

english translation

भगवान् मुकुन्द ने अक्षत अपनी पूर्णत: सेना के द्वारा अपने शत्रु की सेनाओं के समुद्र को पार कर लिया था। स्वर्ग के निवासियों ने उन पर फूलों की वर्षा करते हुए उन्हें बधाइयाँ दीं। ।। १०-५०-३६ ।।

माथुरैरुपसङ्गम्य विज्वरैर्मुदितात्मभिः । उपगीयमानविजयः सूतमागधवन्दिभिः ।। १०-५०-३७ ।।

sanskrit

The people of Mathurā, relieved of their feverish anxiety and filled with joy, came out to meet Him as professional bards, heralds and panegyrists sang in praise of His victory. ।। 10-50-37 ।।

english translation

मथुरा के निवासी अपनी ज्वरयुक्त चिन्ता से मुक्त होकर तथा हर्ष से पूरित होकर उनसे मिलने के लिए बाहर निकल आये और सूतों, मागधों तथा वन्दीजनों ने उनकी विजय की प्रशंसा में गीत गाये। ।। १०-५०-३७ ।।

शङ्खदुन्दुभयो नेदुर्भेरीतूर्याण्यनेकशः । वीणावेणुमृदङ्गानि पुरं प्रविशति प्रभौ ।। १०-५०-३८ ।।

sanskrit

As the Lord entered His city, conchshells and kettledrums sounded, and many drums, horns, vīṇās, flutes and mṛdaṅgas played in concert. ।। 10-50-38 ।।

english translation

ज्योंही भगवान् ने नगरी में प्रवेश किया, शंख तथा दुन्दुभियाँ बजने लगीं और अनेक ढोल, तुरहियाँ, वीणा, वंशी तथा मृदंग एकसाथ बजने लगे। ।। १०-५०-३८ ।।

सिक्तमार्गां हृष्टजनां पताकाभिरलङ्कृताम् । निर्घुष्टां ब्रह्मघोषेण कौतुकाबद्धतोरणाम् ।। १०-५०-३९ ।।

sanskrit

The boulevards were sprinkled with water, there were banners everywhere, and the gateways were decorated for the celebration. The citizens were elated, and the city resounded with the chanting of Vedic hymns. ।। 10-50-39 ।।

english translation

रास्तों को जल छिडक़ा गया था, सर्वत्र पताकाएँ लगी थीं तथा प्रवेशद्वारों को समारोह के लिए सजाया गया था। उसके नागरिक उत्साहित थे और नगरी वैदिक स्तोत्रों के उच्चारण से गूँज रही थी। ।। १०-५०-३९ ।।

निचीयमानो नारीभिर्माल्यदध्यक्षताङ्कुरैः । निरीक्ष्यमाणः सस्नेहं प्रीत्युत्कलितलोचनैः ।। १०-५०-४० ।।

sanskrit

As the women of the city affectionately looked at the Lord, their eyes wide open with love, they scattered flower garlands, yogurt, parched rice and newly grown sprouts upon Him. ।। 10-50-40 ।।

english translation

ज्योंही नगरी की स्त्रियों ने भगवान् पर स्नेहयुक्त दृष्टि डाली, उनके नेत्र प्रेमवश खुले के खुले रह गये। उन्होंने भगवान् पर फूल-मालाएँ, दही, अक्षत तथा नवांकुरों की वर्षा की। ।। १०-५०-४० ।।
