आयोधनगतं वित्तमनन्तं वीरभूषणम् । यदुराजाय तत्सर्वमाहृतं प्रादिशत्प्रभुः ॥ १०-५०-४१ ॥
Lord Kṛṣṇa then presented to the Yadu king all the wealth that had fallen on the battlefield — namely, the countless ornaments of the dead warriors. ॥ 10-50-41 ॥

तत्पश्चात् भगवान् कृष्ण ने यदुराज को वह सारी सम्पत्ति लाकर भेंट की जो युद्धभूमि में गिरी थी अर्थात् जो मृत योद्धाओं के अनगिनत आभूषणों के रूप में थी। ॥ १०-५०-४१ ॥

AyodhanagataM vittamanantaM vIrabhUSaNam । yadurAjAya tatsarvamAhRtaM prAdizatprabhuH ॥ 10-50-41 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवं सप्तदशकृत्वस्तावत्यक्षौहिणीबलः । युयुधे मागधो राजा यदुभिः कृष्णपालितैः ॥ १०-५०-४२ ॥
Seventeen times the King of Magadha met defeat in this very way. And yet throughout these defeats he fought on with his akṣauhiṇī divisions against the forces of the Yadu dynasty who were protected by Śrī Kṛṣṇa. ॥ 10-50-42 ॥

मगध का राजा इसी तरह से सत्रह बार पराजित होता रहा। फिर भी इन पराजयों में वह अपनी कई अक्षौहिणी सेनाओं से यदुवंश की उन सेनाओं के विरुद्ध लड़ता रहा जो श्रीकृष्ण द्वारा संरक्षित थीं। ॥ १०-५०-४२ ॥

hk transliteration by Sanscriptअक्षिण्वंस्तद्बलं सर्वं वृष्णयः कृष्णतेजसा । हतेषु स्वेष्वनीकेषु त्यक्तोऽयादरिभिर्नृपः ॥ १०-५०-४३ ॥
By the power of Lord Kṛṣṇa, the Vṛṣṇis would invariably annihilate all of Jarāsandha’s forces, and when all his soldiers had been killed, the King, released by his enemies, would again go away. ॥ 10-50-43 ॥

भगवान् कृष्ण की शक्ति से, वृष्णिजन जरासन्ध की सारी सेना को नष्ट करते रहे और जब उसके सारे सैनिक मार डाले जाते तो राजा (जरासन्ध) अपने शत्रुओं द्वारा छोड़ दिये जाने पर पुन: वहाँ से चला जाता। ॥ १०-५०-४३ ॥

Just as the eighteenth battle was about to take place, a barbarian warrior named Kālayavana, sent by Nārada, appeared on the battlefield. ॥ 10-50-44 ॥

जब अठारहवाँ युद्ध होने ही वाला था, तो कालयवन नामक एक बर्बर योद्धा, जिसे नारद ने भेजा था, युद्ध-क्षेत्र में प्रकट हुआ। ॥ १०-५०-४४ ॥

Arriving at Mathurā, this Yavana laid siege to the city with thirty million barbarian soldiers. He had never found a human rival worth fighting, but he had heard that the Vṛṣṇis were his equals. ॥ 10-50-45 ॥

मथुरा आकर इस यवन ने तीन करोड़ बर्बर (म्लेच्छ) सैनिकों समेत इस नगरी में घेरा डाल दिया। उसे कभी अपने से लडऩे योग्य प्रतिद्वन्द्वी व्यक्ति नहीं मिला था किन्तु उसने सुना था कि वृष्णिजन उसकी जोड़ के हैं। ॥ १०-५०-४५ ॥
