एवं तौ लोकसिद्धाभिः क्रीडाभिश्चेरतुर्वने । नद्यद्रिद्रोणिकुञ्जेषु काननेषु सरःसु च ॥ १०-१८-१६ ॥
In this way Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma played all sorts of well-known games as They wandered among the rivers, hills, valleys, bushes, trees and lakes of Vṛndāvana. ॥ 10-18-16 ॥

इस तरह से कृष्ण तथा बलराम वृन्दावन की नदियों, पर्वतों, घाटियों, कुंजों, वृक्षों तथा सरोवरों के बीच घूमते हुए सभी प्रकार के प्रसिद्ध खेल खेलते रहते। ॥ १०-१८-१६ ॥

पशूंश्चारयतोर्गोपैस्तद्वने रामकृष्णयोः । गोपरूपी प्रलम्बोऽगादसुरस्तज्जिहीर्षया ॥ १०-१८-१७ ॥
While Rāma, Kṛṣṇa and Their cowherd friends were thus tending the cows in that Vṛndāvana forest, the demon Pralamba entered their midst. He had assumed the form of a cowherd boy with the intention of kidnapping Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma. ॥ 10-18-17 ॥

इस तरह जब उस वृन्दावन के जंगल में राम, कृष्ण तथा उनके ग्वालमित्र गौवें चरा रहे थे तो प्रलम्ब नामक असुर उनके बीच में घुस आया। कृष्ण तथा बलराम का हरण करने के इरादे से उसने ग्वालबाल का वेश बना लिया था। ॥ १०-१८-१७ ॥

तं विद्वानपि दाशार्हो भगवान् सर्वदर्शनः । अन्वमोदत तत्सख्यं वधं तस्य विचिन्तयन् ॥ १०-१८-१८ ॥
Since the Supreme Lord Kṛṣṇa, who had appeared in the Daśārha dynasty, sees everything, He understood who the demon was. Still, the Lord pretended to accept the demon as a friend, while at the same time seriously considering how to kill him. ॥ 10-18-18 ॥

चूँकि दशार्ह वंश में उत्पन्न भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण सब कुछ देखते हैं अतएव वे जान गये कि वह असुर कौन है। फिर भी भगवान् ने ऐसा दिखावा किया जैसे कि वे उसे अपना मित्र मान चुके हों जबकि वे गम्भीरतापूर्वक यह विचार कर रहे थे कि उसको कैसे मारा जाय। ॥ १०-१८-१८ ॥

तत्रोपाहूय गोपालान् कृष्णः प्राह विहारवित् । हे गोपा विहरिष्यामो द्वन्द्वीभूय यथायथम् ॥ १०-१८-१९ ॥
Kṛṣṇa, who knows all sports and games, then called together the cowherd boys and spoke as follows: “Hey cowherd boys! Let’s play now! We’ll divide ourselves into two even teams.” ॥ 10-18-19 ॥

तब समस्त क्रीड़ाओं के ज्ञाता कृष्ण ने सारे ग्वालबालों को बुलाया और उनसे इस प्रकार कहा : हे ग्वालबालो, अब चलो खेलें, हम अपने आपको दो समान टोलियों में बाँट लें। ॥ १०-१८-१९ ॥

तत्र चक्रुः परिवृढौ गोपा रामजनार्दनौ । कृष्णसङ्घट्टिनः केचिदासन् रामस्य चापरे ॥ १०-१८-२० ॥
The cowherd boys chose Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma as the leaders of the two parties. Some of the boys were on Kṛṣṇa’s side, and others joined Balarāma. ॥ 10-18-20 ॥

ग्वालबालों ने कृष्ण तथा बलराम को दोनों टोलियों का अगुआ (नायक) चुन लिया। कुछ बालक कृष्ण की ओर थे और कुछ बलराम के साथ थे। ॥ १०-१८-२० ॥
