कस्यानुभावोऽस्य न देव विद्महे तवाङ्घ्रिरेणुस्पर्शाधिकारः । यद्वाञ्छया श्रीर्ललनाचरत्तपो विहाय कामान् सुचिरं धृतव्रता ।। १०-१६-३६ ।।

sanskrit

O Lord, we do not know how the serpent Kāliya has attained this great opportunity of being touched by the dust of Your lotus feet. For this end, the goddess of fortune performed austerities for centuries, giving up all other desires and observing austere vows. ।। 10-16-36 ।।

english translation

हे प्रभु, हम नहीं जानतीं कि इस कालिय नाग ने किस तरह आपके चरणकमलों की धूल को स्पर्श करने का सुअवसर प्राप्त किया। इसके लिए तो लक्ष्मीजी ने अन्य सारी इच्छाएँ त्यागकर कठोर व्रत धारण करके सैकड़ों वर्षों तक तपस्या की थी। ।। १०-१६-३६ ।।

न नाकपृष्ठं न च सार्वभौमं न पारमेष्ठ्यं न रसाधिपत्यम् । न योगसिद्धीरपुनर्भवं वा वाञ्छन्ति यत्पादरजःप्रपन्नाः ।। १०-१६-३७ ।।

sanskrit

Those who have attained the dust of Your lotus feet never hanker for the kingship of heaven, limitless sovereignty, the position of Brahmā or rulership over the earth. They are not interested even in the perfections of yoga or in liberation itself. ।। 10-16-37 ।।

english translation

जिन्होंने आपके चरणकमलों की धूल प्राप्त कर ली है वे न तो स्वर्ग का राज्य, न असीम वर्चस्व, न ब्रह्मा का पद, न ही पृथ्वी का साम्राज्य चाहते हैं। उन्हें योग की सिद्धियों अथवा मोक्ष तक में कोई रुचि नहीं रहती। ।। १०-१६-३७ ।।

O Lord, although this Kāliya, the king of the serpents, has taken birth in the mode of ignorance and is controlled by anger, he has achieved that which is difficult for others to achieve. Embodied souls, who are full of desires and are thus wandering in the cycle of birth and death, can have all benedictions manifested before their eyes simply by receiving the dust of Your lotus feet. ।। 10-16-38 ।।

english translation

हे प्रभु, यद्यपि इस सर्पराज कालिय का जन्म तमोगुण में हुआ है और यह क्रोध के वशीभूत है किन्तु इसने अन्यों के लिए जो दुष्प्राप्य है उसे भी प्राप्त कर लिया है। इच्छाओं से पूर्ण होकर जन्म-मृत्यु के चक्कर में भ्रमण करनेवाले देहधारी जीव आपके चरणकमलों की धूल प्राप्त करने से ही अपने समक्ष सारे आशीर्वादों को प्रकट होते देख सकते हैं। ।। १०-१६-३८ ।।

We offer our obeisances unto You, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Although present in the hearts of all living beings as the Supersoul, You are all-pervasive. Although the original shelter of all created material elements, You exist prior to their creation. And although the cause of everything, You are transcendental to all material cause and effect, being the Supreme Soul. ।। 10-16-39 ।।

english translation

हे भगवन्, हम आपको सादर नमस्कार करती हैं। यद्यपि आप सभी जीवों के हृदयों में परमात्मा रूप में स्थित हैं, तो भी आप सर्वव्यापक हैं। यद्यपि आप सभी उत्पन्न भौतिक तत्त्वों के आदि आश्रय हैं किन्तु आप उनके सृजन के पूर्व से विद्यमान हैं। यद्यपि आप हर वस्तु के कारण हैं किन्तु परमात्मा होने से आप भौतिक कार्य-कारण से परे हैं। ।। १०-१६-३९ ।।

Obeisances unto You, the Absolute Truth, who are the reservoir of all transcendental consciousness and potency and the possessor of unlimited energies. Although completely free of material qualities and transformations, You are the prime mover of material nature. ।। 10-16-40 ।।

हे परम सत्य, हम आपको नमस्कार करती हैं। आप समस्त दिव्य चेतना एवं शक्ति के आगार हैं और अनन्त शक्तियों के स्वामी हैं। यद्यपि आप भौतिक गुणों एवं विकारों से पूर्णतया मुक्त हैं किन्तु आप भौतिक प्रकृति के आदि संचालक हैं। ।। १०-१६-४० ।।
