तावत्प्रविष्टास्त्वसुरोदरान्तरं परं न गीर्णाः शिशवः सवत्साः । प्रतीक्षमाणेन बकारिवेशनं हतस्वकान्तस्मरणेन रक्षसा ॥ १०-१२-२६ ॥
In the meantime, while Kṛṣṇa was considering how to stop them, all the cowherd boys entered the mouth of the demon. The demon, however, did not swallow them, for he was thinking of his own relatives who had been killed by Kṛṣṇa and was just waiting for Kṛṣṇa to enter his mouth. ॥ 10-12-26 ॥

जब तक कि कृष्ण सारे बालकों को रोकने के बारे में सोचें, तब तक वे सभी असुर के मुख में घुस गये। किन्तु उस असुर ने उन्हें निगला नहीं क्योंकि वह कृष्ण द्वारा मारे गये अपने सम्बन्धियों के विषय में सोच रहा था और अपने मुख में कृष्ण के घुसने की प्रतीक्षा कर रहा था। ॥ १०-१२-२६ ॥

tAvatpraviSTAstvasurodarAntaraM paraM na gIrNAH zizavaH savatsAH । pratIkSamANena bakArivezanaM hatasvakAntasmaraNena rakSasA ॥ 10-12-26 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतान् वीक्ष्य कृष्णः सकलाभयप्रदो ह्यनन्यनाथान् स्वकरादवच्युतान् । दीनांश्च मृत्योर्जठराग्निघासान् घृणार्दितो दिष्टकृतेन विस्मितः ॥ १०-१२-२७ ॥
Kṛṣṇa saw that all the cowherd boys, who did not know anyone but Him as their Lord, had now gone out of His hand and were helpless, having entered like straws into the fire of the abdomen of Aghāsura, who was death personified. It was intolerable for Kṛṣṇa to be separated from His friends the cowherd boys. Therefore, as if seeing that this had been arranged by His internal potency, Kṛṣṇa was momentarily struck with wonder and unsure of what to do. ॥ 10-12-27 ॥
english translation
कृष्ण ने देखा कि सारे ग्वालबाल, जो उन्हें ही अपना सर्वस्व मानते थे, उनके हाथ से निकल कर साक्षात् मृत्यु रूपी अघासुर के उदर की अग्नि में तिनकों जैसे प्रविष्ट हो जाने से असहाय हैं। कृष्ण के लिए अपने इन ग्वालबाल मित्रों से विलग होना असह्य था। अतएव यह देखते हुए कि यह सब उनकी अन्तरंगा शक्ति द्वारा नियोजित किया प्रतीत होता है, कृष्ण आश्चर्यचकित हो उठे और निश्चय न कर पाये कि क्या किया जाय। ॥ १०-१२-२७ ॥

tAn vIkSya kRSNaH sakalAbhayaprado hyananyanAthAn svakarAdavacyutAn । dInAMzca mRtyorjaTharAgnighAsAn ghRNArdito diSTakRtena vismitaH ॥ 10-12-27 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकृत्यं किमत्रास्य खलस्य जीवनं न वा अमीषां च सतां विहिंसनम् । द्वयं कथं स्यादिति संविचिन्त्य तत् ज्ञात्वाविशत्तुण्डमशेषदृग्घरिः ॥ १०-१२-२८ ॥
Now, what was to be done? How could both the killing of this demon and the saving of the devotees be performed simultaneously? Kṛṣṇa, being unlimitedly potent, decided to wait for an intelligent means by which He could simultaneously save the boys and kill the demon. Then He entered the mouth of Aghāsura. ॥ 10-12-28 ॥

अब क्या करना होगा? इस असुर का वध और भक्तों का बचाव—एकसाथ दोनों को किस तरह सम्पन्न किया जाय? असीम शक्तिशाली होने से कृष्ण ने ऐसी बुद्धिगम्य युक्ति निकल आने तक प्रतीक्षा करने का निश्चय किया जिसके द्वारा वे बालकों को बचाने के साथ साथ उस असुर का वध भी कर सकें। तत्पश्चात् वे अघासुर के मुख में घुस गये। ॥ १०-१२-२८ ॥

kRtyaM kimatrAsya khalasya jIvanaM na vA amISAM ca satAM vihiMsanam । dvayaM kathaM syAditi saMvicintya tat jJAtvAvizattuNDamazeSadRgghariH ॥ 10-12-28 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतदा घनच्छदा देवा भयाद्धा हेति चुक्रुशुः । जहृषुर्ये च कंसाद्याः कौणपास्त्वघबान्धवाः ॥ १०-१२-२९ ॥
When Kṛṣṇa entered the mouth of Aghāsura, the demigods hidden behind the clouds exclaimed, “Alas! Alas!” But the friends of Aghāsura, like Kaṁsa and other demons, were jubilant. ॥ 10-12-29 ॥

जब कृष्ण अघासुर के मुख में घुस गये तो बादलों के पीछे छिपे देवतागण हाय हाय करने लगे। किन्तु अघासुर के मित्र, यथा कंस तथा अन्य असुरगण अत्यन्त हर्षित थे। ॥ १०-१२-२९ ॥

tadA ghanacchadA devA bhayAddhA heti cukruzuH । jahRSurye ca kaMsAdyAH kauNapAstvaghabAndhavAH ॥ 10-12-29 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतच्छ्रुत्वा भगवान् कृष्णस्त्वव्ययः सार्भवत्सकम् । चूर्णीचिकीर्षोरात्मानं तरसा ववृधे गले ॥ १०-१२-३० ॥
When the invincible Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kṛṣṇa, heard the demigods crying “Alas! Alas!” from behind the clouds, He immediately enlarged Himself within the demon’s throat, just to save Himself and the cowherd boys, His own associates, from the demon who wished to smash them. ॥ 10-12-30 ॥
english translation
जब अजेय भगवान् कृष्ण ने देवताओं को बादलों के पीछे से हाय हाय पुकारते सुना तो तुरन्त ही उन्होंने स्वयं तथा अपने संगी ग्वालबालों को असुर से बचाने के लिए, जिन्हें वह चूर्ण- चूर्ण कर देना चाहता था, उसके गले के भीतर अपना विस्तार कर लिया। ॥ १०-१२-३० ॥
