कदाचिद्यमुनातीरे वत्सांश्चारयतोः स्वकैः । वयस्यैः कृष्णबलयोर्जिघांसुर्दैत्य आगमत् ॥ १०-११-४१ ॥
One day while Rāma and Kṛṣṇa, along with Their playmates, were tending the calves on the bank of the river Yamunā, another demon arrived there, desiring to kill Them. ॥ 10-11-41 ॥

एक दिन जब राम तथा कृष्ण अपने साथियों के साथ यमुना नदी के किनारे अपने बछड़े चरा रहे थे तो उन्हें मारने की इच्छा से वहाँ एक अन्य असुर आया। ॥ १०-११-४१ ॥

तं वत्सरूपिणं वीक्ष्य वत्सयूथगतं हरिः । दर्शयन् बलदेवाय शनैर्मुग्ध इवासदत् ॥ १०-११-४२ ॥
When the Supreme Personality of Godhead saw that the demon had assumed the form of a calf and entered among the groups of other calves, He pointed out to Baladeva, “Here is another demon.” Then He very slowly approached the demon, as if He did not understand the demon’s intentions. ॥ 10-11-42 ॥

जब भगवान् ने देखा कि असुर बछड़े का वेश धारण करके अन्य बछड़ों के समूह के बीच घुस आया है, तो उन्होंने बलदेव को इङ्गित किया, “यह रहा दूसरा असुर।” फिर वे उस असुर के पास धीरे-धीरे पहुँच गये मानो वे असुर के मनोभावों को समझ नहीं रहे थे। ॥ १०-११-४२ ॥

गृहीत्वापरपादाभ्यां सहलाङ्गूलमच्युतः । भ्रामयित्वा कपित्थाग्रे प्राहिणोद्गतजीवितम् । स कपित्थैर्महाकायः पात्यमानैः पपात ह ॥ १०-११-४३ ॥
Thereafter, Śrī Kṛṣṇa caught the demon by the hind legs and tail, twirled the demon’s whole body very strongly until the demon was dead, and threw him into the top of a kapittha tree, which then fell down, along with the body of the demon, who had assumed a great form. ॥ 10-11-43 ॥

तत्पश्चात् श्रीकृष्ण ने उस असुर की पिछली टाँगें तथा पूँछ पकड़ ली और वे उसके शरीर को तब तक तेजी से घुमाते रहे जब तक वह मर नहीं गया। फिर उसे कैथे के पेड़ की चोटी पर फेंक दिया। वह वृक्ष उस असुर द्वारा धारण किये गये विशाल शरीर को लेकर भूमि पर गिर पड़ा। ॥ १०-११-४३ ॥

तं वीक्ष्य विस्मिता बालाः शशंसुः साधु साध्विति । देवाश्च परिसन्तुष्टा बभूवुः पुष्पवर्षिणः ॥ १०-११-४४ ॥
Upon seeing the dead body of the demon, all the cowherd boys exclaimed, “Well done, Kṛṣṇa! Very good, very good! Thank You.” In the upper planetary system, all the demigods were pleased, and therefore they showered flowers on the Supreme Personality of Godhead. ॥ 10-11-44 ॥

असुर के मृत शरीर को देखकर सारे ग्वालबाल चिल्ला उठे, “बहुत खूब कृष्ण, बहुत अच्छे, बहुत अच्छे, धन्यवाद,” स्वर्गलोक में सारे देवता प्रसन्न थे अत: उन्होंने भगवान् पर फूल बरसाये। ॥ १०-११-४४ ॥

तौ वत्सपालकौ भूत्वा सर्वलोकैकपालकौ । सप्रातराशौ गोवत्सांश्चारयन्तौ विचेरतुः ॥ १०-११-४५ ॥
After the killing of the demon, Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma finished Their breakfast in the morning, and while continuing to take care of the calves, They wandered here and there. Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma, the Supreme Personalities of Godhead, who maintain the entire creation, now took charge of the calves as if cowherd boys. ॥ 10-11-45 ॥

असुर को मारने के बाद कृष्ण तथा बलराम ने अपना सुबह का नाश्ता (कलेवा) किया और बछड़ों की रखवाली करते हुए वे इधर-उधर टहलते रहे। भगवान् कृष्ण तथा बलराम ने जो सम्पूर्ण सृष्टि के पालक हैं, ग्वालबालों की तरह बछड़ों का भार सँभाला। ॥ १०-११-४५ ॥
