भर्त्सितां तर्जितां वापि नानुमंस्यति राघवः । तदलं क्रूरवाक्यैश्च सान्त्वमेवाभिधीयताम् ॥ ५-२७-४१
- Rama will not approve of any one abusing or threatening her (Sita). Give up these cruel taunts. Speak to her in a cordial manner. [5-27-41]
english translation
अभियाचाम वैदेहीमेतद्धि मम रोचते । यस्यामेवंविधः स्वप्नो दुःखितायां प्रदृश्यते ॥ ५-२७-४२
'We will beg Vaidehi's forgiveness. I like this kind of action. When any demoness in a sorrowful state dreams this kind of dream - [5-27-42]
english translation
सा दुःखैर्विविधैर्मुक्ता प्रियं प्राप्नोत्यनुत्तमम् । भर्त्सितामपि याचध्वं राक्षस्यः किं विवक्षया ॥ ५-२७-४३
- she will be relieved of sorrow and will obtain supreme joy. O demonesses beg her (pardon) now even though you had threatened her earlier. Where is the need to hesitate? [5-27-43]
english translation
राघवाद्धि भयं घोरं राक्षसानामुपस्थितम् । प्रणिपातप्रसन्ना हि मैथिली जनकात्मजा ॥ ५-२७-४४
'There is cause for concern for demons from Rama. This Janaka's daughter from Mithila will be pleased by your submission. [5-27-44]
english translation
अलमेषा परित्रातुं राक्षस्यो महतो भयात् । अपि चास्या विशालाक्ष्या न किंचिदुपलक्षये ॥ ५-२७-४५
'O she-demons, she (Sita) is capable of protecting you against great dangers. I do not see (even insignificant one) in her (Sita) who is wide eyed - [5-27-45]
