पीतेनैकेन संवीतां क्लिष्टेनोत्तमवाससा । सपङ्कामनलङ्कारां विपद्मामिव पद्मिनीम् ॥ ५-१५-२१
She was wearing an excellent single yellow cloth which was soiled. Unadorned, she looked like a muddy lotus pond bereft of lotuses. [5-15-21]

व्रीडितां दुःखसन्तप्तां परिम्लानां तपस्विनीम् । ग्रहेणाङ्गारकेणेव पीडितामिव रोहिणीम् ॥ ५-१५-२२
She was bashful, tormented with agony, dejected with a withered look. She appeared like the star Rohini oppressed by planet Mars. [5-15-22]

अश्रुपूर्णमुखीं दीनां कृशामनशनेन च । शोकध्यानपरां दीनां नित्यं दुःखपरायणाम् ॥ ५-१५-२३
Her face was filled with tears. She looked dejected and emaciated due to fasting. Always plunged in grief, she looked like one meditating in tears. [5-15-23]

प्रियं जनमपश्यन्तीं पश्यन्तीं राक्षसीगणम् । स्वगणेन मृगीं हीनां श्वगणाभिवृतामिव ॥ ५-१५-२४
Unable to see her dear kith and kin, she sat guarded by ogresses. She appeared like a doe separated from the herd and encircled by a pack of hounds. [5-15-24]
english translation
नीलनागाभया वेण्या जघनं गतयैकया । नीलया नीरदापाये वनराज्या महीमिव ॥ ५-१५-२५
She (from behind) appeared like the earth covered with a range of trees at the end of rainy season with her single long black braid touching her hips looking like a black serpent. [5-15-25]
