आशङ्के तं निपतितं जनस्थाने जटायुषम् | अहं तु पतितो विन्ध्ये दग्धपक्षो जडीकृतः || ४-६१-१६

'I thought Jatayu had fallen down somewhere at Janasthana, but I fell on Vindhya, wings burnt, in an unconscious state. [4-61-16]

english translation

AzaGke taM nipatitaM janasthAne jaTAyuSam | ahaM tu patito vindhye dagdhapakSo jaDIkRtaH || 4-61-16

राज्येन हीनो भ्रात्रा च पक्षाभ्यां विक्रमेण च | सर्वथा मर्तुमेवेच्छन्पतिष्ये शिखराद्गीरेः || ४-६१-१७

'Bereft of my kingdom, my brother and my wings, and having lost my strength I desire to fall down from the mountain top and die.' [4-61-17]
