कन्दराणि च शैलांश्च निर्दराणि गुहास्तथा । शिखराणि च मुख्यानि दरीश्च प्रियदर्शनाः ॥ ४-१३-६
( They saw ) beautiful valleys, mountains, caves, prominent peaks with deep caverns. [4-13-6]
english translation
वैढूर्यविमलै:पर्णै पद्मैश्चाकोशकुट्मलैः । शोभितांत्सजलान्मार्गे तटाकांश्च व्यलोकयन् ॥ ४-१३-७
Observing on the way delightful lotus buds with leaves like Vaidurya, clear water and full tanks ( They moved on ). [4-13-7]
english translation
कारण्डैस्सारसैर्हंसैर्वञ्जुलैर्जलकुक्कुटैः । चक्रवाकै स्तथा चान्यैश्शकुनैः रुपनादितान् ॥ ४-१३-८
Ducks, cranes, swans, vanjulas, waterfowls, chakravakas and other birds warbling melodiously. [4-13-8]
english translation
मृदुशष्पाङ्कुराहारान्निर्भयान्वनगोचरान् । चरतस्सर्वतौऽपश्यन् स्थलीषु हरिणान् स्थितान् ॥ ४-१३-९
They observed deer feeding on tender grass on the ground around without fear, some standing and some roaming the forest. [4-13-9]

तटाकवैरिणश्चापि शुक्लदन्तविभूषितान् । घोरानेकचरान्वन्यान्द्विरदान्कूलघातिनः ॥ ४-१३-१०
Observing terrific elephants adorned with white tusks wandering alone destroying the tanks, shattering the banks. [4-13-10]
