दृष्ट्वादितिस्तं निजगर्भसम्भवं परं पुमांसं मुदमाप विस्मिता । गृहीतदेहं निजयोगमायया प्रजापतिश्चाह जयेति विस्मितः ॥ ८-१८-११ ॥
When Aditi saw the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who had appeared from her own womb, having accepted a transcendental body by His own spiritual potency, she was struck with wonder and was very happy. Upon seeing the child, Prajāpati Kaśyapa exclaimed, “Jaya! Jaya!” in great happiness and wonder. ॥ 8-18-11 ॥

जब अदिति ने देखा कि भगवान् ने जो उनके अपने गर्भ से उत्पन्न हुए थे अपनी आध्यात्मिक शक्ति से दिव्य शरीर धारण कर लिया है, तो वे आश्चर्यचकित हो उठीं और अत्यन्त प्रसन्न हुईं। उस बालक को देखकर प्रजापति कश्यप परम सुख एवं आश्चर्य के वशीभूत होकर जय! जय! की ध्वनि करने लगे। ॥ ८-१८-११ ॥

यत्तद्वपुर्भाति विभूषणायुधैरव्यक्तचिद्व्यक्तमधारयद्धरिः । बभूव तेनैव स वामनो वटुः सम्पश्यतोर्दिव्यगतिर्यथा नटः ॥ ८-१८-१२ ॥
The Lord appeared in His original form, with ornaments and weapons in His hands. Although this ever-existing form is not visible in the material world, He nonetheless appeared in this form. Then, in the presence of His father and mother, He assumed the form of Vāmana, a brāhmaṇa-dwarf, a brahmacārī, just like a theatrical actor. ॥ 8-18-12 ॥

भगवान् अपने आदि रूप में आभूषण पहने तथा हाथ में आयुध धारण किये प्रकट हुए। यद्यपि उनका यह सदैव विद्यमान रहने वाला रूप भौतिक जगत में दृश्य नहीं है, तो भी वे इसी रूप में प्रकट हुए। तत्पश्चात् अपने माता-पिता की उपस्थिति में ही उन्होंने उसी तरह ब्राह्मण वामन अर्थात् ब्रह्मचारी का रूप धारण कर लिया जिस तरह कोई अभिनेता कर लेता है। ॥ ८-१८-१२ ॥

तं वटुं वामनं दृष्ट्वा मोदमाना महर्षयः । कर्माणि कारयामासुः पुरस्कृत्य प्रजापतिम् ॥ ८-१८-१३ ॥
When the great sages saw the Lord as the brahmacārī-dwarf Vāmana, they were certainly very pleased. Thus they placed before them Kaśyapa Muni, the Prajāpati, and performed all the ritualistic ceremonies, such as the birthday ceremony. ॥ 8-18-13 ॥

जब ऋषियों ने भगवान् को ब्रह्मचारी वामन के रूप में देखा तो वे निश्चय ही परम प्रसन्न हुए। अतएव प्रजापति कश्यपमुनि को आगे करके उन्होंने सारे अनुष्ठान—यथा जन्म संस्कार— सम्पन्न किये। ॥ ८-१८-१३ ॥

तस्योपनीयमानस्य सावित्रीं सविताब्रवीत् । बृहस्पतिर्ब्रह्मसूत्रं मेखलां कश्यपोऽददात् ॥ ८-१८-१४ ॥
At the sacred thread ceremony of Vāmanadeva, the sun-god personally uttered the Gāyatrī mantra, Bṛhaspati offered the sacred thread, and Kaśyapa Muni offered a straw belt. ॥ 8-18-14 ॥

वामनदेव के यज्ञोपवीत संस्कार के समय सूर्यदेव ने स्वयं गायत्री मंत्र का जप किया, बृहस्पति ने जनेऊ प्रदान किया और कश्यप मुनि ने मूँज की मेखला भेंट की। ॥ ८-१८-१४ ॥

ददौ कृष्णाजिनं भूमिर्दण्डं सोमो वनस्पतिः । कौपीनाच्छादनं माता द्यौश्छत्रं जगतः पतेः ॥ ८-१८-१५ ॥
Mother earth gave Him a deerskin, and the demigod of the moon, who is the king of the forest, gave Him a brahma-daṇḍa [the rod of a brahmacārī]. His mother, Aditi, gave Him cloth for underwear, and the deity presiding over the heavenly kingdom offered Him an umbrella. ॥ 8-18-15 ॥

माता पृथ्वी ने उन्हें मृगचर्म प्रदान किया तथा वनस्पतियों के राजा चन्द्रदेव ने उन्हें ब्रह्मदण्ड (ब्रह्मचारी का डंडा) प्रदान किया। उनकी माता अदिति ने उन्हें कौपीन के लिए वस्त्र तथा स्वर्गलोक के अधिनायक देवता ने उन्हें छत्र प्रदान किया। ॥ ८-१८-१५ ॥
