गन्धर्वमुख्यौ जगतुर्विश्वावसुपरावसू । देवदुन्दुभयो नेदुर्नर्तक्यो ननृतुर्मुदा ।। ८-११-४१ ।।

sanskrit

Viśvāvasu and Parāvasu, the two chiefs of the Gandharvas, sang in great happiness. The kettledrums of the demigods sounded, and the Apsarās danced in jubilation. ।। 8-11-41 ।।

english translation

विश्वावसु तथा परावसु नामक दो गन्धर्व प्रमुखों ने अतीव प्रसन्नता में गीत गाये। देवताओं ने दुन्दुभियाँ बजाईं और अप्सराओं ने हर्षित होकर नृत्य किया। ।। ८-११-४१ ।।

अन्येऽप्येवं प्रतिद्वन्द्वान् वाय्वग्निवरुणादयः । सूदयामासुरस्त्रौघैर्मृगान् केसरिणो यथा ।। ८-११-४२ ।।

sanskrit

Vāyu, Agni, Varuṇa and other demigods began killing the demons who opposed them, just as lions kill deer in a forest. ।। 8-11-42 ।।

english translation

वायु, अग्नि, वरुण इत्यादि देवता अपने विरोधी असुरों को उसी तरह मारने लगे जिस तरह जंगल में हिरनों को सिंह मारते हैं। ।। ८-११-४२ ।।

ब्रह्मणा प्रेषितो देवान् देवर्षिर्नारदो नृप । वारयामास विबुधान् दृष्ट्वा दानवसङ्क्षयम् ।। ८-११-४३ ।।

sanskrit

O King, when Lord Brahmā saw the imminent total annihilation of the demons, he sent a message with Nārada, who went before the demigods to make them stop fighting. ।। 8-11-43 ।।

english translation

हे राजा! जब ब्रह्मा ने देखा कि दानवों का पूर्ण संहार तुरन्त होने वाला है, तो उन्होंने नारद द्वारा सन्देश भेजा जो युद्ध रुकवाने के लिए देवताओं के समक्ष गये। ।। ८-११-४३ ।।

नारद उवाच भवद्भिरमृतं प्राप्तं नारायणभुजाश्रयैः । श्रिया समेधिताः सर्व उपारमत विग्रहात् ।। ८-११-४४ ।।

sanskrit

The great sage Nārada said: All of you demigods are protected by the arms of Nārāyaṇa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and by His grace you have gotten the nectar. By the grace of the goddess of fortune, you are glorious in every way. Therefore, please stop this fighting. ।। 8-11-44 ।।

english translation

महामुनि नारद ने कहा : तुम सारे देवता भगवान् नारायण की भुजाओं द्वारा सुरक्षित हो और उनकी कृपा से तुम सबको अमृत प्राप्त हुआ है। लक्ष्मीजी की कृपा से तुम हर तरह से गौरान्वित हुए हो; अतएव अब यह लड़ाई बन्द कर दो। ।। ८-११-४४ ।।

श्रीशुक उवाच संयम्य मन्युसंरम्भं मानयन्तो मुनेर्वचः । उपगीयमानानुचरैर्ययुः सर्वे त्रिविष्टपम् ।। ८-११-४५ ।।

Śrī Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: Accepting the words of Nārada, the demigods gave up their anger and stopped fighting. Being praised by their followers, they returned to their heavenly planets. ।। 8-11-45 ।।

english translation

श्रीशुकदेव गोस्वामी ने कहा : नारद मुनि के वचनों को मानकर देवताओं ने अपना क्रोध त्याग दिया और लड़ाई बन्द कर दी। वे अपने अनुयायियों द्वारा प्रशंसित होकर स्वर्गलोक को लौट गये। ।। ८-११-४५ ।।
