निवृत्तेष्वश्वमेधेषु राजा युष्मत्पितामहः । शृण्वन् भगवतो धर्मानपृच्छदिदमच्युतम् ॥ १०-८८-६ ॥
Your grandfather, King Yudhiṣṭhira, after completing his Aśvamedha sacrifices, asked Lord Acyuta this very same question while hearing the Lord’s explanation of religious principles. ॥ 10-88-6 ॥

आपके दादा, राजा युधिष्ठिर ने, अपने अश्वमेध यज्ञों को पूरा करने के बाद, धार्मिक सिद्धांतों के बारे में भगवान की व्याख्या सुनते समय भगवान अच्युत से यही प्रश्न पूछा था। ॥ १०-८८-६ ॥

स आह भगवांस्तस्मै प्रीतः शुश्रूषवे प्रभुः । नृणां निःश्रेयसार्थाय योऽवतीर्णो यदोः कुले ॥ १०-८८-७ ॥
This question pleased Śrī Kṛṣṇa, the King’s Lord and master, who had descended into the family of Yadu for the purpose of bestowing the highest good on all men. The Lord replied as follows as the King eagerly listened. ॥ 10-88-7 ॥

इस प्रश्न से राजा के भगवान और स्वामी, श्री कृष्ण प्रसन्न हुए, जो सभी मनुष्यों को सर्वोच्च भलाई प्रदान करने के उद्देश्य से यदु के परिवार में अवतरित हुए थे। राजा ने उत्सुकता से सुना तो भगवान ने इस प्रकार उत्तर दिया। ॥ १०-८८-७ ॥

श्रीभगवानुवाच यस्याहमनुगृह्णामि हरिष्ये तद्धनं शनैः । ततोऽधनं त्यजन्त्यस्य स्वजना दुःखदुःखितम् ॥ १०-८८-८ ॥
The Personality of Godhead said: If I especially favor someone, I gradually deprive him of his wealth. Then the relatives and friends of such a poverty-stricken man abandon him. In this way he suffers one distress after another. ॥ 10-88-8 ॥

भगवान ने कहा: यदि मैं विशेष रूप से किसी का पक्ष लेता हूं, तो मैं धीरे-धीरे उसे उसकी संपत्ति से वंचित कर देता हूं। तब ऐसे दरिद्र मनुष्य के परिजन और मित्र उसका त्याग कर देते हैं। इस तरह वह एक के बाद एक कष्ट झेलता है। ॥ १०-८८-८ ॥

स यदा वितथोद्योगो निर्विण्णः स्याद्धनेहया । मत्परैः कृतमैत्रस्य करिष्ये मदनुग्रहम् ॥ १०-८८-९ ॥
When he becomes frustrated in his attempts to make money and instead befriends My devotees, I bestow My special mercy upon him. ॥ 10-88-9 ॥

जब वह पैसा कमाने के अपने प्रयासों में निराश हो जाता है और इसके बजाय मेरे भक्तों से मित्रता करता है, तो मैं उस पर अपनी विशेष दया करता हूँ। ॥ १०-८८-९ ॥

तद्ब्रह्म परमं सूक्ष्मं चिन्मात्रं सदनन्तकम् । (विज्ञायात्मतया धीरः संसारात्परिमुच्यते ।) अतो मां सुदुराराध्यं हित्वान्यान् भजते जनः ॥ १०-८८-१० ॥
A person who has thus become sober fully realizes the Absolute as the highest truth, the most subtle and perfect manifestation of spirit, the transcendental existence without end. In this way realizing that the Supreme Truth is the foundation of his own existence, he is freed from the cycle of material life. Because I am difficult to worship, people generally avoid Me and instead worship other deities, who are quickly satisfied. ॥ 10-88-10 ॥

एक व्यक्ति जो इस प्रकार शांत हो गया है, उसे सर्वोच्च सत्य, आत्मा की सबसे सूक्ष्म और परिपूर्ण अभिव्यक्ति, अंत के बिना पारलौकिक अस्तित्व के रूप में निरपेक्षता का पूरी तरह से एहसास होता है। इस प्रकार यह समझकर कि सर्वोच्च सत्य ही उसके अस्तित्व का आधार है, वह भौतिक जीवन के चक्र से मुक्त हो जाता है। चूँकि मेरी पूजा करना कठिन है, इसलिए लोग आम तौर पर मुझसे बचते हैं और इसके बजाय अन्य देवताओं की पूजा करते हैं, जो जल्दी संतुष्ट हो जाते हैं। ॥ १०-८८-१० ॥
