मुनय ऊचुः यन्मायया तत्त्वविदुत्तमा वयं विमोहिता विश्वसृजामधीश्वराः । यदीशितव्यायति गूढ ईहया अहो विचित्रं भगवद्विचेष्टितम् ॥ १०-८४-१६ ॥
The great sages said: Your power of illusion has totally bewildered us, the most exalted knowers of the truth and leaders among the universal creators. Ah, how amazing is the behavior of the Supreme Lord! He covers Himself with His humanlike activities and pretends to be subject to superior control. ॥ 10-84-16 ॥

महान ऋषियों ने कहा: आपकी माया की शक्ति ने हम, सत्य के सबसे महान ज्ञाता और सार्वभौमिक रचनाकारों के बीच नेताओं को पूरी तरह से भ्रमित कर दिया है। अहा, परमेश्वर का आचरण कितना अद्भुत है! वह स्वयं को अपनी मानवीय गतिविधियों से ढक लेता है और श्रेष्ठ नियंत्रण के अधीन होने का दिखावा करता है। ॥ १०-८४-१६ ॥

अनीह एतद्बहुधैक आत्मना सृजत्यवत्यत्ति न बध्यते यथा । भौमैर्हि भूमिर्बहुनामरूपिणी अहो विभूम्नश्चरितं विडम्बनम् ॥ १०-८४-१७ ॥
Indeed, the humanlike pastimes of the Almighty are simply a pretense! Effortlessly, He alone sends forth from His Self this variegated creation, maintains it and then swallows it up again, all without becoming entangled, just as the element earth takes on many names and forms in its various transformations. ॥ 10-84-17 ॥

सचमुच, सर्वशक्तिमान की मानवीय लीलाएँ मात्र एक दिखावा हैं! सहजता से, वह अकेले ही अपनी आत्मा से इस विविध सृष्टि को भेजता है, इसका पालन-पोषण करता है और फिर बिना किसी उलझे हुए इसे निगल जाता है, जैसे कि पृथ्वी तत्व अपने विभिन्न परिवर्तनों में कई नाम और रूप धारण करता है। ॥ १०-८४-१७ ॥

अथापि काले स्वजनाभिगुप्तये बिभर्षि सत्त्वं खलनिग्रहाय च । स्वलीलया वेदपथं सनातनं वर्णाश्रमात्मा पुरुषः परो भवान् ॥ १०-८४-१८ ॥
Nonetheless, at suitable times You assume the pure mode of goodness to protect Your devotees and punish the wicked. Thus You, the Soul of the varṇāśrama social order, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, maintain the eternal path of the Vedas by enjoying Your pleasure pastimes. ॥ 10-84-18 ॥

फिर भी, उपयुक्त समय पर आप अपने भक्तों की रक्षा करने और दुष्टों को दंडित करने के लिए अच्छाई का शुद्ध रूप धारण करते हैं। इस प्रकार, आप, वर्णाश्रम सामाजिक व्यवस्था की आत्मा, भगवान, अपनी आनंदमय लीलाओं का आनंद लेते हुए वेदों के शाश्वत मार्ग को बनाए रखते हैं। ॥ १०-८४-१८ ॥

ब्रह्म ते हृदयं शुक्लं तपःस्वाध्यायसंयमैः । यत्रोपलब्धं सद्व्यक्तमव्यक्तं च ततः परम् ॥ १०-८४-१९ ॥
The Vedas are Your spotless heart, and through them one can perceive — by means of austerity, study and self-control — the manifest, the unmanifest and the pure existence transcendental to both. ॥ 10-84-19 ॥

वेद आपका निष्कलंक हृदय हैं, और उनके माध्यम से कोई भी - तपस्या, अध्ययन और आत्म-नियंत्रण के माध्यम से - व्यक्त, अव्यक्त और दोनों से परे शुद्ध अस्तित्व को देख सकता है। ॥ १०-८४-१९ ॥

तस्माद्ब्रह्मकुलं ब्रह्मन् शास्त्रयोनेस्त्वमात्मनः । सभाजयसि सद्धाम तद्ब्रह्मण्याग्रणीर्भवान् ॥ १०-८४-२० ॥
Therefore, O Supreme Brahman, You honor the members of the brahminical community, for they are the perfect agents by which one can realize You through the evidence of the Vedas. For that very reason You are the foremost worshiper of the brāhmaṇas. ॥ 10-84-20 ॥

इसलिए, हे परम ब्रह्म, आप ब्राह्मण समुदाय के सदस्यों का सम्मान करते हैं, क्योंकि वे सही एजेंट हैं जिनके द्वारा कोई वेदों के प्रमाण के माध्यम से आपको महसूस कर सकता है। इसी कारण से आप ब्राह्मणों के अग्रणी उपासक हैं। ॥ १०-८४-२० ॥
