तत्र दुर्योधनो मानी परीतो भ्रातृभिर्नृप । किरीटमाली न्यविशदसिहस्तः क्षिपन् रुषा ॥ १०-७५-३६ ॥
Proud Duryodhana, holding a sword in his hand and wearing a crown and necklace, angrily went into the palace in the company of his brothers, O King, insulting the doorkeepers as he entered. ॥ 10-75-36 ॥

अभिमानी दुर्योधन, हाथ में तलवार लेकर, मुकुट और हार पहने हुए, क्रोधपूर्वक अपने भाइयों के साथ महल में चला गया, हे राजन, उसने प्रवेश करते ही द्वारपालों का अपमान किया। ॥ १०-७५-३६ ॥

स्थलेऽभ्यगृह्णाद्वस्त्रान्तं जलं मत्वा स्थलेऽपतत् । जले च स्थलवद्भ्रान्त्या मयमायाविमोहितः ॥ १०-७५-३७ ॥
Bewildered by the illusions created through Maya Dānava’s magic, Duryodhana mistook the solid floor for water and lifted the end of his garment. And elsewhere he fell into the water, mistaking it for the solid floor. ॥ 10-75-37 ॥

माया दानव के जादू से पैदा हुए भ्रम से भ्रमित होकर, दुर्योधन ने ठोस फर्श को पानी समझ लिया और अपने वस्त्र का अंत उठा लिया। और अन्यत्र वह ठोस फर्श समझकर पानी में गिर गया। ॥ १०-७५-३७ ॥

जहास भीमस्तं दृष्ट्वा स्त्रियो नृपतयोऽपरे । निवार्यमाणा अप्यङ्ग राज्ञा कृष्णानुमोदिताः ॥ १०-७५-३८ ॥
My dear Parīkṣit, Bhīma laughed to see this, and so did the women, kings and others. King Yudhiṣṭhira tried to stop them, but Lord Kṛṣṇa showed His approval. ॥ 10-75-38 ॥

मेरे प्रिय परीक्षित, भीम यह देखकर हँसे, और स्त्रियाँ, राजा तथा अन्य लोग भी हँसे। राजा युधिष्ठिर ने उन्हें रोकने की कोशिश की, लेकिन भगवान कृष्ण ने अपनी सहमति दिखाई। ॥ १०-७५-३८ ॥

स व्रीडितोऽवाग्वदनो रुषाज्वलन्निष्क्रम्य तूष्णीं प्रययौ गजाह्वयम् । हा हेति शब्दः सुमहानभूत्सतामजातशत्रुर्विमना इवाभवत् । बभूव तूष्णीं भगवान् भुवो भरं समुज्जिहीर्षुर्भ्रमति स्म यद्दृशा ॥ १०-७५-३९ ॥
Humiliated and burning with anger, Duryodhana turned his face down, left without uttering a word and went back to Hastināpura. The saintly persons present loudly cried out, “Alas, alas!” and King Yudhiṣṭhira was somewhat saddened. But the Supreme Lord, whose mere glance had bewildered Duryodhana, remained silent, for His intention was to remove the burden of the earth. ॥ 10-75-39 ॥

अपमानित और क्रोध से जलते हुए, दुर्योधन ने अपना चेहरा नीचे कर लिया, बिना एक शब्द बोले वहां से चला गया और हस्तिनापुर वापस चला गया। उपस्थित साधुजन जोर-जोर से चिल्लाने लगे, "हाय, अफसोस!" और राजा युधिष्ठिर कुछ दुःखी हुए। परंतु भगवान, जिनकी दृष्टि मात्र से दुर्योधन व्याकुल हो गया था, चुप रहे, क्योंकि उनका इरादा पृथ्वी का बोझ उतारना था। ॥ १०-७५-३९ ॥

एतत्तेऽभिहितं राजन् यत्पृष्टोऽहमिह त्वया । सुयोधनस्य दौरात्म्यं राजसूये महाक्रतौ ॥ १०-७५-४० ॥
I have now replied to your question, O King, concerning why Duryodhana was dissatisfied on the occasion of the great Rājasūya sacrifice. ॥ 10-75-40 ॥
