चित्रध्वजपताकाग्रैरिभेन्द्रस्यन्दनार्वभिः । स्वलङ्कृतैर्भटैर्भूपा निर्ययू रुक्ममालिनः ।। १०-७५-११ ।।

sanskrit

All the kings, wearing gold necklaces, then set off for the Yamunā. They had flags and banners of various colors and were accompanied by infantrymen and well-adorned soldiers riding lordly elephants, chariots and horses. ।। 10-75-11 ।।

english translation

सभी राजा सोने के हार पहनकर यमुना की ओर चल पड़े। उनके पास विभिन्न रंगों के झंडे और बैनर थे और उनके साथ हाथी, रथ और घोड़ों पर सवार पैदल सैनिक और सुसज्जित सैनिक भी थे। ।। १०-७५-११ ।।

यदुसृञ्जयकाम्बोजकुरुकेकयकोसलाः । कम्पयन्तो भुवं सैन्यैर्यजमानपुरःसराः ।। १०-७५-१२ ।।

sanskrit

The massed armies of the Yadus, Sṛñjayas, Kāmbojas, Kurus, Kekayas and Kośalas made the earth tremble as they followed Yudhiṣṭhira Mahārāja, the performer of the sacrifice, in procession. ।। 10-75-12 ।।

english translation

यदु, श्रृंजय, कंबोज, कौरव, केकय और कोशल की विशाल सेनाओं ने यज्ञकर्ता युधिष्ठिर महाराज का जुलूस निकालते हुए पृथ्वी को कंपा दिया। ।। १०-७५-१२ ।।

The assembly officials, the priests and other excellent brāhmaṇas resoundingly vibrated Vedic mantras, while the demigods, divine sages, Pitās and Gandharvas sang praises and rained down flowers. ।। 10-75-13 ।।

english translation

सभा के अधिकारियों, पुजारियों और अन्य उत्कृष्ट ब्राह्मणों ने वैदिक मंत्रों का जोरदार उच्चारण किया, जबकि देवताओं, दिव्य ऋषियों, पिताओं और गंधर्वों ने स्तुति गाई और फूलों की वर्षा की। ।। १०-७५-१३ ।।

स्वलङ्कृता नरा नार्यो गन्धस्रग्भूषणाम्बरैः । विलिम्पन्त्योऽभिषिञ्चन्त्यो विजह्रुर्विविधै रसैः ।। १०-७५-१४ ।।

Men and women, all adorned with sandalwood paste, flower garlands, jewelry and fine clothing, sported by smearing and sprinkling one another with various liquids. ।। 10-75-14 ।।

पुरुष और महिलाएं, सभी चंदन के लेप, फूलों की मालाओं, गहनों और बढ़िया कपड़ों से सजे हुए थे, एक दूसरे को विभिन्न तरल पदार्थ लगाकर और छिड़ककर खेल रहे थे। ।। १०-७५-१४ ।।

तैलगोरसगन्धोदहरिद्रासान्द्रकुङ्कुमैः । पुम्भिर्लिप्ताः प्रलिम्पन्त्यो विजह्रुर्वारयोषितः ।। १०-७५-१५ ।।

The men smeared the courtesans with plentiful oil, yogurt, perfumed water, turmeric and kuṅkuma powder, and the courtesans playfully smeared the men with the same substances. ।। 10-75-15 ।।

english translation

पुरुषों ने वेश्याओं को प्रचुर मात्रा में तेल, दही, सुगंधित पानी, हल्दी और कुंकुमा पाउडर से लेपित किया, और वेश्याओं ने खेल-खेल में पुरुषों को उन्हीं पदार्थों से लेपित किया। ।। १०-७५-१५ ।।
