व्रजन्तमव्याद्वैकुण्ठ आसीनं त्वां श्रियःपतिः । भुञ्जानं यज्ञभुक्पातु सर्वग्रहभयङ्करः ॥ १०-६-२६ ॥
May Lord Vaikuṇṭha protect You while You are walking, and may Lord Nārāyaṇa, the husband of the goddess of fortune, protect You while You are sitting. Similarly, may Lord Yajñabhuk, the fearful enemy of all evil planets, always protect You while You enjoy life. ॥ 10-6-26 ॥

भगवान् वैकुण्ठ तुम्हारे चलते समय तथा लक्ष्मीपति नारायण तुम्हारे बैठते समय तुम्हारी रक्षा करें। इसी तरह भगवान् यज्ञभुक, जिनसे सारे दुष्टग्रह भयभीत रहते हैं तुम्हारे भोग के समय सदैव तुम्हारी रक्षा करें। ॥ १०-६-२६ ॥

डाकिन्यो यातुधान्यश्च कूष्माण्डा येऽर्भकग्रहाः । भूतप्रेतपिशाचाश्च यक्षरक्षोविनायकाः ॥ १०-६-२७ ॥
The evil witches known as Ḍākinīs, Yātudhānīs and Kuṣmāṇḍas are the greatest enemies of children, and the evil spirits like Bhūtas, Pretas, Piśācas, Yakṣas, Rākṣasas and Vināyakas ॥ 10-6-27 ॥

डाकिनी, यातुधानी तथा कुष्माण्ड नामक दुष्ट डाइनें बच्चों की सबसे बड़ी शत्रु हैं तथा भूत, प्रेत, पिशाच, यक्ष, राक्षस तथा विनायक ॥ १०-६-२७ ॥

कोटरा रेवती ज्येष्ठा पूतना मातृकादयः । उन्मादा ये ह्यपस्मारा देहप्राणेन्द्रियद्रुहः ॥ १०-६-२८ ॥
As well as witches like Koṭarā, Revatī, Jyeṣṭhā, Pūtanā and Mātṛkā, are always ready to give trouble to the body, the life air and the senses, causing loss of memory, madness and bad dreams. ॥ 10-6-28 ॥

जैसे दुष्टात्माओं के साथ कोटरा, रेवती, ज्येष्ठा, पूतना तथा मातृका जैसी डाइनें भी सदैव शरीर, प्राण तथा इन्द्रियों को कष्ट पहुँचाने के लिए तैयार रहती हैं जिससे स्मृति की हानि, उन्माद तथा बुरे स्वप्न उत्पन्न होते हैं। ॥ १०-६-२८ ॥

स्वप्नदृष्टा महोत्पाता वृद्धबालग्रहाश्च ये । सर्वे नश्यन्तु ते विष्णोर्नामग्रहणभीरवः ॥ १०-६-२९ ॥
Like the most experienced evil stars, they all create great disturbances, especially for children, but one can vanquish them simply by uttering Lord Viṣṇu’s name, for when Lord Viṣṇu’s name resounds, all of them become afraid and go away. ॥ 10-6-29 ॥

वे दुष्ट अनुभवी वृद्धों की तरह बच्चों के लिए विशेष रूप से भारी उत्पात खड़ा करते हैं। किन्तु भगवान् विष्णु के नामोच्चार से ही उन्हें नष्ट किया जा सकता है क्योंकि जब भगवान् विष्णु का नाम प्रतिध्वनित होता है, तो वे सब डर जाते हैं और दूर भाग जाते हैं। ॥ १०-६-२९ ॥

श्रीशुक उवाच इति प्रणयबद्धाभिर्गोपीभिः कृतरक्षणम् । पाययित्वा स्तनं माता सन्न्यवेशयदात्मजम् ॥ १०-६-३० ॥
Śrīla Śukadeva Gosvāmī continued: All the gopīs, headed by mother Yaśodā, were bound by maternal affection. After they thus chanted mantras to protect the child, mother Yaśodā gave the child the nipple of her breast to suck and then got Him to lie down on His bed. ॥ 10-6-30 ॥

श्रील शुकदेव गोस्वामी ने आगे कहा : माता यशोदा समेत सारी गोपियाँ मातृस्नेह से बँधी हुई थीं। इस तरह बालक की रक्षा के लिए मंत्रोच्चारण के बाद माता यशोदा ने बच्चे को अपना दूध पिलाया और उसे बिस्तर पर लिटा दिया। ॥ १०-६-३० ॥
