गोप्यः संस्पृष्टसलिला अङ्गेषु करयोः पृथक् । न्यस्यात्मन्यथ बालस्य बीजन्यासमकुर्वत ।। १०-६-२१ ।।

sanskrit

The gopīs first executed the process of ācamana, drinking a sip of water from the right hand. They purified their bodies and hands with the nyāsa-mantra and then applied the same mantra upon the body of the child. ।। 10-6-21 ।।

english translation

गोपियों ने सर्वप्रथम अपने दाहिने हाथ से जल का एक घूँट पी कर आचमन किया। उन्होंने अपने शरीरों तथा हाथों को न्यास-मंत्र से शुद्ध बनाया और तब उन्होंने बालक के शरीर को भी उसी मंत्र से परिशुद्ध किया। ।। १०-६-२१ ।।

अव्यादजोऽङ्घ्रिमणिमांस्तव जान्वथोरू यज्ञोऽच्युतः कटितटं जठरं हयास्यः । हृत्केशवस्त्वदुर ईश इनस्तु कण्ठं विष्णुर्भुजं मुखमुरुक्रम ईश्वरः कम् ।। १०-६-२२ ।।

[Śukadeva Gosvāmī informed Mahārāja Parīkṣit that the gopīs, following the proper system, protected Kṛṣṇa, their child, with this mantra.] May Aja protect Your legs, may Maṇimān protect Your knees, Yajña Your thighs, Acyuta the upper part of Your waist, and Hayagrīva Your abdomen. May Keśava protect Your heart, Īśa Your chest, the sun-god Your neck, Viṣṇu Your arms, Urukrama Your face, and Īśvara Your head. ।। 10-6-22 ।।

english translation

(शुकदेव गोस्वामी ने महाराज परीक्षित को बतलाया कि गोपियों ने कृष्ण की रक्षा उपयुक्त विधि के अनुसार निम्नलिखित मंत्र द्वारा की)—अज तुम्हारी पाँवों की, मणिमान तुम्हारे घुटनों की, यज्ञ तुम्हारी जाँघों की, अच्युत तुम्हारी कमर के ऊपरी भाग की तथा हयग्रीव तुम्हारे उदर की रक्षा करें। केशव तुम्हारे हृदय की, ईश तुम्हारे वक्षस्थल की, सूर्यदेव तुम्हारे गले की, विष्णु तुम्हारे भुजाओं की, उरुक्रम तुम्हारे मुँह की तथा ईश्वर तुम्हारे सिर की रक्षा करें। ।। १०-६-२२ ।।

चक्र्यग्रतः सहगदो हरिरस्तु पश्चात् त्वत्पार्श्वयोर्धनुरसी मधुहाजनश्च । कोणेषु शङ्ख उरुगाय उपर्युपेन्द्रस्तार्क्ष्यः क्षितौ हलधरः पुरुषः समन्तात् ।। १०-६-२३ ।।

May Cakrī protect You from the front; may Śrī Hari, Gadādharī, the carrier of the club, protect You from the back; and may the carrier of the bow, who is known as the enemy of Madhu, and Lord Ajana, the carrier of the sword, protect Your two sides. May Lord Urugāya, the carrier of the conchshell, protect You from all corners; may Upendra protect You from above; may Garuḍa protect You on the ground; and may Lord Haladhara, the Supreme Person, protect You on all sides. ।। 10-6-23 ।।

चक्री आगे से, गदाधारी हरि पीछे से तथा धनुर्धर मधुहा एवं खडग़् भगवान् विष्णु दोनों ओर से तुम्हारी रक्षा करें। शंखधारी उरुगाय समस्त कोणों से तुम्हारी रक्षा करें। उपेन्द्र ऊपर से, गरुड़ धरती पर तथा परम पुरुष हलधर चारों ओर से तुम्हारी रक्षा करें। ।। १०-६-२३ ।।

भगवान् प्रश्निगर्भ तुम्हारी बुद्धि की तथा पूर्ण पुरुषोत्तम भगवान् तुम्हारे आत्मा की रक्षा करें। तुम्हारे खेलते समय गोविन्द तथा तुम्हारे सोते समय माधव तुम्हारी रक्षा करें। ।। १०-६-२५ ।।
