हतेषु मल्लवर्येषु विद्रुतेषु च भोजराट् । न्यवारयत्स्वतूर्याणि वाक्यं चेदमुवाच ह ॥ १०-४४-३१ ॥
The Bhoja king, seeing that his best wrestlers had all been killed or had fled, stopped the musical performance originally meant for his pleasure and spoke the following words. ॥ 10-44-31 ॥
english translation
जब भोजराज ने देखा कि उसके सर्वश्रेष्ठ पहलवान या तो मारे जा चुके हैं अथवा भाग गये हैं, तो उसने वाद्य-यंत्रों को बजाना रूकवा दिया जो मूलत: उसके मनोविनोद के लिए बजाये जा रहे थे और इस प्रकार के शब्द कहे। ॥ १०-४४-३१ ॥

hk transliteration by Sanscriptनिःसारयत दुर्वृत्तौ वसुदेवात्मजौ पुरात् । धनं हरत गोपानां नन्दं बध्नीत दुर्मतिम् ॥ १०-४४-३२ ॥
॥ Kaṁsa said:॥ Drive the two wicked sons of Vasudeva out of the city! Confiscate the cowherds’ property and arrest that fool Nanda! ॥ 10-44-32 ॥
english translation
॥ कंस ने कहा॥: वसुदेव के दोनों दुष्ट पुत्रों को नगरी से बाहर निकाल दो। ग्वालों की सम्पत्ति छीन लो और उस मूर्ख नन्द को बन्दी बना लो। ॥ १०-४४-३२ ॥

niHsArayata durvRttau vasudevAtmajau purAt । dhanaM harata gopAnAM nandaM badhnIta durmatim ॥ 10-44-32 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptवसुदेवस्तु दुर्मेधा हन्यतामाश्वसत्तमः । उग्रसेनः पिता चापि सानुगः परपक्षगः ॥ १०-४४-३३ ॥
Kill that most evil fool Vasudeva! And also kill my father, Ugrasena, along with his followers, who have all sided with our enemies! ॥ 10-44-33 ॥
english translation
उस अत्यन्त दुष्ट मूर्ख वसुदेव को मार डालो! और मेरे पिता उग्रसेन को भी उसके अनुयायियों सहित मार डालो क्योंकि उन सब ने हमारे शत्रुओं का पक्ष लिया है। ॥ १०-४४-३३ ॥

vasudevastu durmedhA hanyatAmAzvasattamaH । ugrasenaH pitA cApi sAnugaH parapakSagaH ॥ 10-44-33 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptएवं विकत्थमाने वै कंसे प्रकुपितोऽव्ययः । लघिम्नोत्पत्य तरसा मञ्चमुत्तुङ्गमारुहत् ॥ १०-४४-३४ ॥
As Kaṁsa thus raved so audaciously, the infallible Lord Kṛṣṇa, intensely angry, quickly and easily jumped up onto the high royal dais. ॥ 10-44-34 ॥
english translation
जब कंस इस तरह दम्भ से गरज रहा था, तो अच्युत भगवान् कृष्ण अत्यन्त क्रुद्ध होकर तेजी के साथ सरलता से उछलकर ऊँचे राजमंच पर जा पहुँचे। ॥ १०-४४-३४ ॥

evaM vikatthamAne vai kaMse prakupito'vyayaH । laghimnotpatya tarasA maJcamuttuGgamAruhat ॥ 10-44-34 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतमाविशन्तमालोक्य मृत्युमात्मन आसनात् । मनस्वी सहसोत्थाय जगृहे सोऽसिचर्मणी ॥ १०-४४-३५ ॥
Seeing Lord Kṛṣṇa approaching like death personified, the quick-witted Kaṁsa instantly rose from his seat and took up his sword and shield. ॥ 10-44-35 ॥

भगवान् कृष्ण को साक्षात् मृत्यु के समान आते देखकर प्रखर बुद्धिवाला कंस तुरन्त अपने आसन से उठ खड़ा हुआ और उसने अपनी तलवार तथा ढाल उठा ली। ॥ १०-४४-३५ ॥
