चलसि यद्व्रजाच्चारयन् पशून् नलिनसुन्दरं नाथ ते पदम् । शिलतृणाङ्कुरैः सीदतीति नः कलिलतां मनः कान्त गच्छति ।। १०-३१-११ ।।

sanskrit

Dear master, dear lover, when You leave the cowherd village to herd the cows, our minds are disturbed with the thought that Your feet, more beautiful than a lotus, will be pricked by the spiked husks of grain and the rough grass and plants. ।। 10-31-11 ।।

english translation

हे स्वामी, हे प्रियतम, जब आप गाँव छोडक़र गौवें चराने के लिए जाते हैं, तो हमारे मन इस विचार से विचलित हो उठते हैं कि कमल से भी अधिक सुन्दर आपके पाँवों में अनाज के नोकदार छिलके तथा घास-फूस एवं पौधे चुभ जायेंगे। ।। १०-३१-११ ।।

दिनपरिक्षये नीलकुन्तलैर्वनरुहाननं बिभ्रदावृतम् । घनरजस्वलं दर्शयन् मुहुर्मनसि नः स्मरं वीर यच्छसि ।। १०-३१-१२ ।।

sanskrit

At the end of the day You repeatedly show us Your lotus face, covered with dark blue locks of hair and thickly powdered with dust. Thus, O hero, You arouse lusty desires in our minds. ।। 10-31-12 ।।

english translation

दिन ढलने पर आप हमें बारम्बार गहरे नीले केश की लटों से ढके तथा धूल से पूरी तरह धूसरित अपना कमल-मुख दिखलाते हैं। इस तरह, हे वीर, आप हमारे मन में कामवासना जागृत कर देते हैं। ।। १०-३१-१२ ।।

प्रणतकामदं पद्मजार्चितं धरणिमण्डनं ध्येयमापदि । चरणपङ्कजं शन्तमं च ते रमण नः स्तनेष्वर्पयाधिहन् ।। १०-३१-१३ ।।

sanskrit

Your lotus feet, which are worshiped by Lord Brahmā, fulfill the desires of all who bow down to them. They are the ornament of the earth, they give the highest satisfaction, and in times of danger they are the appropriate object of meditation. O lover, O destroyer of anxiety, please put those lotus feet upon our breasts. ।। 10-31-13 ।।

english translation

ब्रह्माजी द्वारा पूजित आपके चरणकमल उन सबों की इच्छाओं को पूरा करते हैं, जो उनमें नतमस्तक होते हैं। वे पृथ्वी के आभूषण हैं, वे सर्वोच्च सन्तोष के देने वाले हैं और संकट के समय चिन्तन के लिए सर्वथा उपयुक्त हैं। हे प्रियतम, हे चिन्ता के विनाशक, आप उन चरणों को हमारे स्तनों पर रखें। ।। १०-३१-१३ ।।

सुरतवर्धनं शोकनाशनं स्वरितवेणुना सुष्ठु चुम्बितम् । इतरराग-विस्मारणं नृणां वितर वीर नस्तेऽधरामृतम् ।। १०-३१-१४ ।।

O hero, kindly distribute to us the nectar of Your lips, which enhances conjugal pleasure and vanquishes grief. That nectar is thoroughly relished by Your vibrating flute and makes people forget any other attachment. ।। 10-31-14 ।।

english translation

हे वीर, आप अपने होंठों के उस अमृत को हममें वितरित कीजिये जो युगल आनन्द को बढ़ाने वाला और शोक को मिटाने वाला है। उसी अमृत का आस्वाद आपकी ध्वनि करती हुई वंशी लेती है और लोगों को अन्य सारी आसक्तियाँ विसरा देती है। ।। १०-३१-१४ ।।

अटति यद्भवानह्नि काननं त्रुटिर्युगायते त्वामपश्यताम् । कुटिलकुन्तलं श्रीमुखं च ते जड उदीक्षतां पक्ष्मकृद्दृशाम् ।। १०-३१-१५ ।।

When You go off to the forest during the day, a tiny fraction of a second becomes like a millennium for us because we cannot see You. And even when we can eagerly look upon Your beautiful face, so lovely with its adornment of curly locks, our pleasure is hindered by our eyelids, which were fashioned by the foolish creator. ।। 10-31-15 ।।

english translation

जब आप दिन के समय जंगल चले जाते हैं, तो क्षण का एक अल्पांश भी हमें युग सरीखा लगता है क्योंकि हम आपको देख नहीं पातीं। और जब हम आपके सुन्दर मुख को जो घुँघराले बालों से सुशोभित होने के कारण इतना सुन्दर लगता है, देखती भी हैं, तो ये हमारी पलकें हमारे आनन्द में बाधक बनती हैं, जिन्हें मूर्ख स्रष्टा ने बनाया है। ।। १०-३१-१५ ।।
