तत्र प्रतिविधिं सम्यगात्मयोगेन साधये । लोकेशमानिनां मौढ्याद्धरिष्ये श्रीमदं तमः ॥ १०-२५-१६ ॥
By My mystic power I will completely counteract this disturbance caused by Indra. Demigods like Indra are proud of their opulence, and out of foolishness they falsely consider themselves the Lord of the universe. I will now destroy such ignorance. ॥ 10-25-16 ॥

मैं अपनी योगशक्ति से इन्द्र द्वारा उत्पन्न इस उत्पात का पूरी तरह सामना करूँगा। इन्द्र जैसे देवता अपने ऐश्वर्य का घमंड करते हैं और मूर्खतावश वे झूठे ही अपने को ब्रह्माण्ड का स्वामी समझने लगते हैं। मैं अब ऐसे अज्ञान को नष्ट कर दूँगा। ॥ १०-२५-१६ ॥

न हि सद्भावयुक्तानां सुराणामीशविस्मयः । मत्तोऽसतां मानभङ्गः प्रशमायोपकल्पते ॥ १०-२५-१७ ॥
Since the demigods are endowed with the mode of goodness, the false pride of considering oneself the Lord should certainly not affect them. When I break the false prestige of those bereft of goodness, My purpose is to bring them relief. ॥ 10-25-17 ॥

चूँकि देवता सतोगुण से युक्त होते हैं अत: अपने को स्वामी मानने का मिथ्या अभिमान उनमें बिल्कुल नहीं आना चाहिए। जब मैं सतोगुण से विहीन उनके मिथ्या अभिमान को भंग करता हूँ तो मेरा उद्देश्य उन्हें राहत दिलाना होता है। ॥ १०-२५-१७ ॥

तस्मान्मच्छरणं गोष्ठं मन्नाथं मत्परिग्रहम् । गोपाये स्वात्मयोगेन सोऽयं मे व्रत आहितः ॥ १०-२५-१८ ॥
I must therefore protect the cowherd community by My transcendental potency, for I am their shelter, I am their master, and indeed they are My own family. After all, I have taken a vow to protect My devotees. ॥ 10-25-18 ॥

अतएव मुझे अपनी दिव्यशक्ति से गोप समुदाय की रक्षा करनी चाहिए क्योंकि मैं ही उनका आश्रय हूँ, मैं ही उनका स्वामी हूँ और वे मेरे अपने परिवार के ही हैं। मैंने अपने भक्तों की रक्षा का व्रत जो ले रखा है। ॥ १०-२५-१८ ॥

इत्युक्त्वैकेन हस्तेन कृत्वा गोवर्धनाचलम् । दधार लीलया कृष्णश्छत्राकमिव बालकः ॥ १०-२५-१९ ॥
Having said this, Lord Kṛṣṇa, who is Viṣṇu Himself, picked up Govardhana Hill with one hand and held it aloft just as easily as a child holds up a mushroom. ॥ 10-25-19 ॥

यह कहकर साक्षात् विष्णु अर्थात् श्रीकृष्ण ने एक हाथ से गोवर्धन पर्वत को ऊपर उठा लिया जिस तरह कि कोई बालक कुकुरमुत्ते को उखाडक़र हाथ में ले लेता है। ॥ १०-२५-१९ ॥

अथाह भगवान् गोपान् हेऽम्ब तात व्रजौकसः । यथोपजोषं विशत गिरिगर्तं सगोधनाः ॥ १०-२५-२० ॥
The Lord then addressed the cowherd community: O Mother, O Father, O residents of Vraja, if you wish you may now come under this hill with your cows. ॥ 10-25-20 ॥

तत्पश्चात् भगवान् ने गोप समुदाय को सम्बोधित किया: हे मैया, हे पिताश्री, हे व्रजवासियो, यदि चाहो तो अपनी गौवों समेत तुम अब इस पर्वत के नीचे आ जाओ। ॥ १०-२५-२० ॥
