क्वचित्पल्लवतल्पेषु नियुद्धश्रमकर्शितः । वृक्षमूलाश्रयः शेते गोपोत्सङ्गोपबर्हणः ॥ १०-१५-१६ ॥
Sometimes Lord Kṛṣṇa grew tired from fighting and lay down at the base of a tree, resting upon a bed made of soft twigs and buds and using the lap of a cowherd friend as His pillow. ॥ 10-15-16 ॥

कभी कभी भगवान् कृष्ण झगडऩे से थक जाते और वृक्ष की जड़ के पास कोमल टहनियों तथा कलियों से बने हुए बिस्तर पर अपने किसी ग्वालबाल सखा की गोद को तकिया बना कर लेट जाते। ॥ १०-१५-१६ ॥

पादसंवाहनं चक्रुः केचित्तस्य महात्मनः । अपरे हतपाप्मानो व्यजनैः समवीजयन् ॥ १०-१५-१७ ॥
Some of the cowherd boys, who were all great souls, would then massage His lotus feet, and others, qualified by being free of all sin, would expertly fan the Supreme Lord. ॥ 10-15-17 ॥

तब कुछ ग्वालबाल जो सब के सब महान् आत्माएँ थे, उनके चरणकमल मलते और अन्य ग्वालबाल निष्पाप होने के कारण बड़ी ही कुशलतापूर्वक भगवान् पर पंखा झलते। ॥ १०-१५-१७ ॥

अन्ये तदनुरूपाणि मनोज्ञानि महात्मनः । गायन्ति स्म महाराज स्नेहक्लिन्नधियः शनैः ॥ १०-१५-१८ ॥
My dear King, other boys would sing enchanting songs appropriate to the occasion, and their hearts would melt out of love for the Lord. ॥ 10-15-18 ॥

हे राजन्, अन्य बालक समयोचित मनोहर गीत गाते और उनके हृदय भगवान् के प्रति प्रेम से द्रवित हो उठते। ॥ १०-१५-१८ ॥

एवं निगूढात्मगतिः स्वमायया गोपात्मजत्वं चरितैर्विडम्बयन् । रेमे रमालालितपादपल्लवो ग्राम्यैः समं ग्राम्यवदीशचेष्टितः ॥ १०-१५-१९ ॥
In this way the Supreme Lord, whose soft lotus feet are personally attended by the goddess of fortune, concealed His transcendental opulences by His internal potency and acted like the son of a cowherd. Yet even while enjoying like a village boy in the company of other village residents, He often exhibited feats only God could perform. ॥ 10-15-19 ॥

इस तरह भगवान् जिनके कोमल चरणकमलों की सेवा लक्ष्मीजी स्वयं करती हैं, अपनी अन्तरंगा शक्ति के द्वारा अपने दिव्य ऐश्वर्य को छिपा कर ग्वालपुत्र की तरह कार्य करते। अन्य ग्रामवासियों के साथ ग्रामीण बालक की भाँति विचरण करते हुए वे कभी कभी ऐसे करतब दिखलाते जो केवल ईश्वर ही कर सकता है। ॥ १०-१५-१९ ॥

श्रीदामा नाम गोपालो रामकेशवयोः सखा । सुबलस्तोककृष्णाद्या गोपाः प्रेम्णेदमब्रुवन् ॥ १०-१५-२० ॥
Once, some of the cowherd boys — Śrīdāmā, the very close friend of Rāma and Kṛṣṇa, along with Subala, Stokakṛṣṇa and others — lovingly spoke the following words. ॥ 10-15-20 ॥

एकबार राम तथा कृष्ण के अत्यन्त घनिष्ट मित्र श्रीदामा, सुबल, स्तोककृष्ण तथा अन्य ग्वालबाल बड़े ही प्रेमपूर्वक इस प्रकार बोले। ॥ १०-१५-२० ॥
