अबो॑धि जा॒र उ॒षसा॑मु॒पस्था॒द्धोता॑ म॒न्द्रः क॒वित॑मः पाव॒कः । दधा॑ति के॒तुमु॒भय॑स्य ज॒न्तोर्ह॒व्या दे॒वेषु॒ द्रवि॑णं सु॒कृत्सु॑ ॥ अबोधि जार उषसामुपस्थाद्धोता मन्द्रः कवितमः पावकः । दधाति केतुमुभयस्य जन्तोर्हव्या देवेषु द्रविणं सुकृत्सु ॥
The waster away (of living creatures), the invoker (of the gods), the giver of delight, the wisest of thewise, the purifier, (Agni), has been manifested from the lap of the dawn; he gives consciousness to both classesof beings (men and animals), oblations to the gods, and wealth to the pious.

स सु॒क्रतु॒र्यो वि दुर॑: पणी॒नां पु॑ना॒नो अ॒र्कं पु॑रु॒भोज॑सं नः । होता॑ म॒न्द्रो वि॒शां दमू॑नास्ति॒रस्तमो॑ ददृशे रा॒म्याणा॑म् ॥ स सुक्रतुर्यो वि दुरः पणीनां पुनानो अर्कं पुरुभोजसं नः । होता मन्द्रो विशां दमूनास्तिरस्तमो ददृशे राम्याणाम् ॥
He, the doer of great deeds, who forced open the doors of the Paṇis, recovered for us the sacredfood-bestowing (herd of kine), he who is the invoker of the gods, the giver of delight to the lowly-minded, is seenof all people dissipating the gloom of the nights.

अमू॑रः क॒विरदि॑तिर्वि॒वस्वा॑न्त्सुसं॒सन्मि॒त्रो अति॑थिः शि॒वो न॑: । चि॒त्रभा॑नुरु॒षसां॑ भा॒त्यग्रे॒ऽपां गर्भ॑: प्र॒स्व१॒॑ आ वि॑वेश ॥ अमूरः कविरदितिर्विवस्वान्त्सुसंसन्मित्रो अतिथिः शिवो नः । चित्रभानुरुषसां भात्यग्रेऽपां गर्भः प्रस्व आ विवेश ॥
Unperplexed, far-seeing elevated, resplendent, right-directing, a friend, a guest, the bestower ofprosperity upon us, the wonderfully radiant he shines before the dawns, the embryo of the waters, he hasentered into the nascent plants.

ई॒ळेन्यो॑ वो॒ मनु॑षो यु॒गेषु॑ समन॒गा अ॑शुचज्जा॒तवे॑दाः । सु॒सं॒दृशा॑ भा॒नुना॒ यो वि॒भाति॒ प्रति॒ गाव॑: समिधा॒नं बु॑धन्त ॥ ईळेन्यो वो मनुषो युगेषु समनगा अशुचज्जातवेदाः । सुसंदृशा भानुना यो विभाति प्रति गावः समिधानं बुधन्त ॥
You, Agni, are to be glorified in (all) the ages of men; you, Jātavedas, who are illustrious whenengaged in battle; our praises wake up the kindling (Agni), him who shines with conspicuous splendour.
english translation
अग्ने॑ या॒हि दू॒त्यं१॒॑ मा रि॑षण्यो दे॒वाँ अच्छा॑ ब्रह्म॒कृता॑ ग॒णेन॑ । सर॑स्वतीं म॒रुतो॑ अ॒श्विना॒पो यक्षि॑ दे॒वान्र॑त्न॒धेया॑य॒ विश्वा॑न् ॥ अग्ने याहि दूत्यं मा रिषण्यो देवाँ अच्छा ब्रह्मकृता गणेन । सरस्वतीं मरुतो अश्विनापो यक्षि देवान्रत्नधेयाय विश्वान् ॥
Repair, Agni, to the presence of the gods in your office of messenger, (sent) by the assembly engagedin prayer; neglect us not; offer worship to Sarasvati, the Maruts, the Aśvins, the waters, the universal gods, thatthey may bestow treasures (upon us).
