अता॑रिष्म॒ तम॑सस्पा॒रम॒स्य प्रति॒ स्तोमं॑ देव॒यन्तो॒ दधा॑नाः । पु॒रु॒दंसा॑ पुरु॒तमा॑ पुरा॒जाम॑र्त्या हवते अ॒श्विना॒ गीः ॥ अतारिष्म तमसस्पारमस्य प्रति स्तोमं देवयन्तो दधानाः । पुरुदंसा पुरुतमा पुराजामर्त्या हवते अश्विना गीः ॥

sanskrit

Devoted to the gods, and hymning their praise, we have crossed to the opposite shore of this (state of)darkness; the worshipper invokes the Aśvins, the doers of many deeds, the most mighty, the first born, the immortal.

english translation

atA॑riSma॒ tama॑saspA॒rama॒sya prati॒ stomaM॑ deva॒yanto॒ dadhA॑nAH | pu॒ru॒daMsA॑ puru॒tamA॑ purA॒jAma॑rtyA havate a॒zvinA॒ gIH || atAriSma tamasaspAramasya prati stomaM devayanto dadhAnAH | purudaMsA purutamA purAjAmartyA havate azvinA gIH ||

अहे॑म य॒ज्ञं प॒थामु॑रा॒णा इ॒मां सु॑वृ॒क्तिं वृ॑षणा जुषेथाम् । श्रु॒ष्टी॒वेव॒ प्रेषि॑तो वामबोधि॒ प्रति॒ स्तोमै॒र्जर॑माणो॒ वसि॑ष्ठः ॥ अहेम यज्ञं पथामुराणा इमां सुवृक्तिं वृषणा जुषेथाम् । श्रुष्टीवेव प्रेषितो वामबोधि प्रति स्तोमैर्जरमाणो वसिष्ठः ॥

Praising (the gods), we preparers the sacrifice for their coming; showerers (of benefits), be propitiatedby this pious laudation; despatched like a swift messenger, Vasiṣṭha arouses you, glorifying you with hymns.

उप॒ त्या वह्नी॑ गमतो॒ विशं॑ नो रक्षो॒हणा॒ सम्भृ॑ता वी॒ळुपा॑णी । समन्धां॑स्यग्मत मत्स॒राणि॒ मा नो॑ मर्धिष्ट॒मा ग॑तं शि॒वेन॑ ॥ उप त्या वह्नी गमतो विशं नो रक्षोहणा सम्भृता वीळुपाणी । समन्धांस्यग्मत मत्सराणि मा नो मर्धिष्टमा गतं शिवेन ॥

May those two, the bearers (of oblations), approach our people, destroyers of rākṣasas,well-nourished, strong-handed; accept our exhilarating (sacrificial) viands; injure us not, but come with goodfortune.

english translation

आ प॒श्चाता॑न्नास॒त्या पु॒रस्ता॒दाश्वि॑ना यातमध॒रादुद॑क्तात् । आ वि॒श्वत॒: पाञ्च॑जन्येन रा॒या यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभि॒: सदा॑ नः ॥ आ पश्चातान्नासत्या पुरस्तादाश्विना यातमधरादुदक्तात् । आ विश्वतः पाञ्चजन्येन राया यूयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः ॥

Come, Nāsatyās, from the west, from the east; come, Aśvins, from the south, from the north, comefrom every quarter with riches beneficial for the five classes of men; and do you ever cherish us with blessings.

english translation

A pa॒zcAtA॑nnAsa॒tyA pu॒rastA॒dAzvi॑nA yAtamadha॒rAduda॑ktAt | A vi॒zvata॒: pAJca॑janyena rA॒yA yU॒yaM pA॑ta sva॒stibhi॒: sadA॑ naH || A pazcAtAnnAsatyA purastAdAzvinA yAtamadharAdudaktAt | A vizvataH pAJcajanyena rAyA yUyaM pAta svastibhiH sadA naH ||
