तौ परिज्ञाततत्त्वार्थौ मया प्रीतिसमन्वितौ । पृष्ठमारोप्य तं देशं प्रापितौ पुरुषर्षभौ ॥ ५-३५-३१

'I recognised the true status of both the mighty men who were filled with joy, placed them on my back, and reached the mountaintop. ॥ 5-35-31॥

निवेदितौ च तत्त्वेन सुग्रीवाय महात्मने । तयोरन्योन्यसल्लापाद्भृशं प्रीतिरजायत ॥ ५-३५-३२

'I reported faithfully about both the highsouled men to Sugriva. As they got to know each other through conversation a fast friendship developed between them. ॥ 5-35-32॥

ततस्तौ प्रीतिसम्पन्नौ हरीश्वरनरेश्वरौ । परस्परकृताश्वासौ कथया पूर्ववृत्तया ॥ ५-३५-३३

'Thus endowed with friendship, Sugriva the lord of monkeys and Rama the best of men, by talking together of their earlier occurrences, developed mutual confidence.' ॥ 5-35-33॥

'Then Rama, consoled Sugriva who was dethroned and abandoned on acount of a woman by his brother Vali, endowed with great prowess. ॥ 5-35-34॥

ततस्त्वन्नाशजं शोकं रामस्याक्लिष्टकर्मणः । लक्ष्मणो वानरेन्द्राय सुग्रीवाय न्यवेदयत् ॥ ५-३५-३५

'Then Lakshmana spoke to the lord of vanaras, Sugriva about your loss and the grief caused to Rama, who is adept in accomplishing difficult deeds with ease. ॥ 5-35-35॥
