तिर्यगूर्ध्वमधश्चैव वीक्षमाणस्ततः कपिः । ददर्श स महत्सत्त्वमुत्थितं लवणाम्भसि ॥ ५-१-१८६
Looking around, right and left, up and down, the monkey saw a huge being rise from the salty sea. ॥ 5-1-186॥
english translation
tiryagUrdhvamadhazcaiva vIkSamANastataH kapiH । dadarza sa mahatsattvamutthitaM lavaNAmbhasi ॥ 5-1-186

Seeing the form with a hideous countenance, Hanuman reflected about the creature of ugly appearance, about which king Sugriva had once told him. ॥ 5-1-187॥
english translation
taddhRSTvA cintayAmAsa mArutirvikRtAnanam । kapirAjena kathitaM sattvamadbhutadarzanam ॥ 5-1-187
hk transliteration by Sanscriptछायाग्राहि महावीर्यं तदिदं नात्र संशयः । स तां बुद्ध्वार्थतत्त्वेन सिंहिकां मतिमान्कपिः ॥ ५-१-१८८
'It is the same creature endowed with power which can catch a creature though his shadow, no doubt', said Hanuman. Recognising the true nature of Simhika the clutcher of shadows, the wise Kapi (Hanuman) . - ॥ 5-1-188॥

chAyAgrAhi mahAvIryaM tadidaM nAtra saMzayaH । sa tAM buddhvArthatattvena siMhikAM matimAnkapiH ॥ 5-1-188
hk transliteration by Sanscriptव्यवर्धत महाकायः प्रावृषीव वलाहकः । तस्य सा कायमुद्वीक्ष्य वर्धमानं महाकपेः ॥ ५-१-१८९
- grew to a huge size like a cloud in rainy season. Observing the body of Hanuman growing in size, she (Simhika) . - ॥ 5-1-189॥

vyavardhata mahAkAyaH prAvRSIva valAhakaH । tasya sA kAyamudvIkSya vardhamAnaM mahAkapeH ॥ 5-1-189
hk transliteration by Sanscriptवक्त्रं प्रसारयामास पातालान्तरसन्निभम् । घनराजीव गर्जन्ती वानरं समभिद्रवत् ॥ ५-१-१९०
- started distending her mouth wide like the depth of the underworld. Roaring like a heavy mass of clouds, she (Simhika) chased Hanuman. ॥ 5-1-190॥

vaktraM prasArayAmAsa pAtAlAntarasannibham । ghanarAjIva garjantI vAnaraM samabhidravat ॥ 5-1-190
