भास्करो निष्प्रभश्चैव महर्षेस्तस्य तेजसा । बुद्धिं न कुरुते यावन्नाशे देव महामुनिः ॥ १-६५-१६
- The Sun, too, is devoid of brilliance before the resplendence of the Maharshi. Oh ! God, before great saint ( Vishvamitra ) makes up his mind for total destruction of all worlds . - ॥ 1-65-16॥
english translation
bhAskaro niSprabhazcaiva maharSestasya tejasA । buddhiM na kurute yAvannAze deva mahAmuniH ॥ 1-65-16
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतावत्प्रसादो भगवानग्निरूपो महाद्युतिः । कालाग्निना यथा पूर्वं त्रैलोक्यं दह्यतेऽखिलम् ॥ १-६५-१७
- as that great-resplendent and most reverential sage turned out to be the embodiment of Fire-god, he should be appeased. As to how the End-Time Fire ( Pralaya ) entirely blazed away the the triad of worlds previously, now this sage may do likewise - ॥ 1-65-17॥
english translation
tAvatprasAdo bhagavAnagnirUpo mahAdyutiH । kAlAgninA yathA pUrvaM trailokyaM dahyate'khilam ॥ 1-65-17
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदेवराज्यं चिकीर्षेत दीयतामस्य यन्मतम् । ततः सुरगणाः सर्वे पितामहपुरोगमाः ॥ १-६५-१८
- hence whatever is his predilection that may be given to him, even if he wants to rule the kingdom of the gods.' Then all the assemblages of gods keeping the Grandparent Brahma in their forefront appeared before . - ॥ 1-65-18॥
english translation
devarAjyaM cikIrSeta dIyatAmasya yanmatam । tataH suragaNAH sarve pitAmahapurogamAH ॥ 1-65-18
hk transliteration by Sanscriptविश्वामित्रं महात्मानं वाक्यं मधुरमब्रुवन् । ब्रह्मर्षे स्वागतं तेऽस्तु तपसा स्म सुतोषिताः ॥ १-६५-१९
- that great souled Vishvamitra and said this harmonious word: 'Oh ! Brahmarshi ( Brahma-sage ), you are welcome. We are immensely pleased with your austerities. - ॥ 1-65-19॥
english translation
vizvAmitraM mahAtmAnaM vAkyaM madhuramabruvan । brahmarSe svAgataM te'stu tapasA sma sutoSitAH ॥ 1-65-19
hk transliteration by Sanscriptब्राह्मण्यं तपसोग्रेण प्राप्तवानसि कौशिक । दीर्घमायुश्च ते ब्रह्मन् ददामि समरुद्गणः ॥ १-६५-२०
- Oh ! Kaushika, you have achieved Bahaman-hood by your rigorous ascesis. Along with the assemblages of Marut-Wind-gods, I bestow upon you a long life. - ॥ 1-65-20॥

brAhmaNyaM tapasogreNa prAptavAnasi kauzika । dIrghamAyuzca te brahman dadAmi samarudgaNaH ॥ 1-65-20
