When ( Janaka ) the valiant king of Videha thus spoke (on the genealogy of his family) the mighty ascetic Vishvaamitra accompanied by Vasishtha said to king ( Janaka ):
'The Ikshvaku-s and Videha-s are unimaginably admirable and immeasurably distinguished dynasties, oh ! the best one among all men ( Janaka ), there is no single king comparable to one from these dynasties... [1-72-2]
Oh ! King it is a perfect match between Sita and Rama and Urmila and Lakshmana, the marriage is in accordance with religious merit. In respect of virtue and beauty the match is perfect. [1-72-3]
Oh ! King, Oh ! Eminent among men ( Janaka ), we seek the hands of this virtuous king's ( Kushadhvaja ) two daughters, unrivalled in beauty, on earth, as consorts ( for Bharata and Shatrughna...). [1-72-5]
