हालाहलं विषं घोरं संजग्राहामृतोपमम् । देवान् विसृज्य देवेशो जगाम भगवान् हरः॥ १-४५-२६
- gulped that lethal poison, haalaahala , as if it was ambrosia. The god of gods Hara then left for his abode ( Kailash ) parting with other gods. ॥ 1-45-26॥
english translation
hAlAhalaM viSaM ghoraM saMjagrAhAmRtopamam । devAn visRjya devezo jagAma bhagavAn haraH॥ 1-45-26
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततो देवासुराः सर्वे ममन्थू रघुनन्दन। प्रविवेशाथ पातालं मन्थानः पर्वतोत्तमः॥ १-४५-२७
Oh ! Descendant of Raghu then all the devatas and asuras resumed churning the Milky Ocean. Now the loftiest mountain ( Mt. Mandara ) that was being used as stirrer, caved into the netherworld. ॥ 1-45-27॥
english translation
tato devAsurAH sarve mamanthU raghunandana। pravivezAtha pAtAlaM manthAnaH parvatottamaH॥ 1-45-27
hk transliteration by Sanscriptततो देवाः सगन्धर्वाः तुष्टुवुर्मधुसूदनम्। त्वं गतिः सर्वभूतानां विशेषेण दिवौकसाम्॥ १-४५-२८
Thereby the gods along with gandharva-s prayed to Madhusuudana ( Bhagavaana Vishnu ) - 'You alone are the recourse to all beings, especially to the dwellers in heavens - ॥ 1-45-28॥
english translation
tato devAH sagandharvAH tuSTuvurmadhusUdanam। tvaM gatiH sarvabhUtAnAM vizeSeNa divaukasAm॥ 1-45-28
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपालयास्मान् महाबाहो गिरिमुद्धर्तुमर्हसि। इति श्रुत्वा हृषीकेशः कामठं रूपमास्थितः॥ १-४५-२९
- oh ! ambidextrous god Vishnu, you safeguard us, it will be apt of you elevate the mountain.' Hearing the prayer of gods, Hrisheekesha ( Bhagavaana Vishnu ), the controller of senses, adopting the form of a tortoise . - ॥ 1-45-29॥

pAlayAsmAn mahAbAho girimuddhartumarhasi। iti zrutvA hRSIkezaH kAmaThaM rUpamAsthitaH॥ 1-45-29
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपर्वतं पृष्ठतः कृत्वा शिश्ये तत्रोदधौ हरिः। पर्वताग्रं तु लोकात्मा हस्तेनाक्रम्य केशवः॥ १-४५-३०
- and positioning the stirring Mt. Mandara on that tortoiseshell, he laid recumbent at the bottom of Milky Ocean as a base to the stirrer. Keshava ( Bhagavaana Vishnu ), the soul of the universe, then reached out his hand and grasped the mountaintop . - ॥ 1-45-30॥

parvataM pRSThataH kRtvA zizye tatrodadhau hariH। parvatAgraM tu lokAtmA hastenAkramya kezavaH॥ 1-45-30
