व्यसर्पत जलं तत्र तीव्रशब्दपुरस्कृतम् । मत्स्यकच्छपसंघैश्च शिंशुमारगणैस्तथा ॥ १-४३-१६
There on earth her waters advanced with a tumultuous sound advancing them. The shoals of fish, schools of tortoises, and scores of porpoises and other aquatic beings . - ॥ 1-43-16॥
english translation
vyasarpata jalaM tatra tIvrazabdapuraskRtam । matsyakacchapasaMghaizca ziMzumAragaNaistathA ॥ 1-43-16
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपतद्भिः पतितैश्चैव व्यरोचत वसुंधरा । ततो देवर्षिगंधर्वा यक्षा सिद्धगणास्तथा ॥ १-४३-१७
- that had already fallen and that were still falling in step with the spates of Ganga. Then the earth verily shone forth with that. Later, they the gods, sages, gandharva-s, yaksha-s, and the assemblages of siddha-s . - ॥ 1-43-17॥

patadbhiH patitaizcaiva vyarocata vasuMdharA । tato devarSigaMdharvA yakSA siddhagaNAstathA ॥ 1-43-17
hk transliteration by Sanscriptव्यलोकयन्त ते तत्र गगनाद्गां गतां तदा । विमानैर्नगराकारैर्हयैर्गजवरैस्तथा ॥१-४३-१८
- looked on with astonishment at Ganga falling from the sky and descending on the earth. Some with aircrafts that were like cities in their shape and size, and some with horses and some with best elephants . - ॥ 1-43-18॥

vyalokayanta te tatra gaganAdgAM gatAM tadA । vimAnairnagarAkArairhayairgajavaraistathA ॥1-43-18
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपारिप्लवगताश्चापि देवतास्तत्र विष्ठिताः । तदद्भुततमं लोके गंगापतनमुत्तमम् ॥१-४३-१९
- God entered the firmament at that place. That was the most wonderful, grand descent of Ganga In this world. ॥ 1-43-19॥

pAriplavagatAzcApi devatAstatra viSThitAH । tadadbhutatamaM loke gaMgApatanamuttamam ॥1-43-19
