विष्णो पुत्रत्वमागच्छ कृत्वात्मानं चतुर्विधम् । तत्र त्वं मानुषो भूत्वा प्रवृद्धं लोककण्टकम् ॥ १-१५-२१

who(God Vishnu) are in similitude with the hrii, the virtue, shrii, the affluence, and kiirti, the glory, you have a fourfold transformation and take birth as their son. who(Ravana) has become exacerbating and thorny to all worlds, and who is otherwise not eliminable for gods .- ॥ 1-15-21॥

viSNo putratvamAgaccha kRtvAtmAnaM caturvidham । tatra tvaM mAnuSo bhUtvA pravRddhaM lokakaNTakam ॥ 1-15-21

अवध्यं दैवतैर्विष्णो समरे जहि रावणम् । स हि देवान् सगन्धर्वान् सिद्धांश्च ऋषिसत्तमान् ॥ १-१५-२२

-Oh! Vishnu, on your taking birth as human through the wives of Dasharatha you eliminate Ravana in war. Gods along with eminent saints, gandharva-s, and siddha-s .- ॥ 1-15-22॥

english translation

avadhyaM daivatairviSNo samare jahi rAvaNam । sa hi devAn sagandharvAn siddhAMzca RSisattamAn ॥ 1-15-22

राक्षसो रावणो मूर्खो वीर्योद्रेकेण बाधते । ऋषयश्च ततस्तेन गन्धर्वाप्सरसस्तथा ॥ १-१५-२३

- were tortured by that preposterous demon Ravana with his invigorated doggedness. The sages from their celestial abodes, and the gandharva-s and apsara celestials too .- ॥ 1-15-23॥

rAkSaso rAvaNo mUrkho vIryodrekeNa bAdhate । RSayazca tatastena gandharvApsarasastathA ॥ 1-15-23

क्रीडन्तो नन्दनवने रौद्रेण विनिपातिताः । वधार्थं वयमायातास्तस्य वै मुनिभिः सह ॥ १-१५-२४

- were knocked down from the heavenly gardens Nandana by that furious one with his insolence, where they will be taking delight. For the purpose of his elimination, along with sages -॥ 1-15-24॥

krIDanto nandanavane raudreNa vinipAtitAH । vadhArthaM vayamAyAtAstasya vai munibhiH saha ॥ 1-15-24

सिद्धगन्धर्वयक्षाश्च ततस्त्वां शरणं गताः । त्वं गतिः परमा देव सर्वेषां नः परंतप ॥ १-१५-२५

- we the celestial beings like siddha-s, gandharva-s, yaksha-s have actually come and thereby we seek shelter in you. "Oh, enemy tormentor, oh, Vishnu, you are the ultimate recourse for all of us .- ॥ 1-15-25॥
