पीतानि रूपाणि च मन्यते यः स मानवः पित्तविदग्धदृष्टिः । प्राप्ते तृतीयं पटलं तु दोषे दिवा न पश्येन्निशि वीक्षते च ॥३६॥

A person whose vision is impaired by the deranged Pitta perceives yellowish forms. Upon reaching the third stage of the disorder, they are unable to see during the day, but they can perceive things clearly at night.

पित्त विकार के कारण दृष्टि बाधित होने पर व्यक्ति को पीले रंग की आकृतियाँ दिखाई देने लगती हैं। विकार के तीसरे चरण में पहुँचने पर, वे दिन में देखने में असमर्थ हो जाते हैं, लेकिन रात में वे चीज़ों को स्पष्ट रूप से देख सकते हैं।

(रात्रौ स शीतानुगृहीतदृष्टिः पित्ताल्पभावादपि तानि पश्येत्) । तथा नरः श्लेष्मविदग्धदृष्टिस्तान्येव शुक्लानि हि मन्यते तु ॥३७॥

The person whose vision is influenced by deranged Kapha perceives those same forms as white. Even though the Kapha dosha is less intense, they still perceive these forms as white.

जिस व्यक्ति की दृष्टि विकृत कफ से प्रभावित होती है, वह उन्हीं रूपों को सफ़ेद के रूप में देखता है। भले ही कफ दोष कम तीव्र हो, फिर भी वे इन रूपों को सफ़ेद के रूप में देखते हैं।

त्रिषु स्थितोल्पः पटलेषु दोषो नक्तान्ध्यमापादयति प्रसह्य । दिवा स सूर्यानुगृहीतचक्षुरिक्षेत रूपाणि कफाल्पभावात् ॥३८॥

When the dosha is mildly present in the three states (of vision), it causes the person to experience night blindness persistently. During the day, the person, whose vision is aided by the sun, perceives forms due to the mild effect of Kapha.

जब दोष तीनों अवस्थाओं (दृष्टि) में हल्का होता है, तो व्यक्ति को लगातार रतौंधी का अनुभव होता है। दिन के समय, जिस व्यक्ति की दृष्टि सूर्य द्वारा सहायता प्राप्त होती है, वह कफ के हल्के प्रभाव के कारण रूपों को देखता है।

शोकज्वरायासशिरोभितापैरभ्याहता यस्य नरस्य दृष्टिः । सधूमकान् पश्यति सर्वभावांस्तं धूमदर्शीति वदन्ति रोगम् ॥३९॥

The person whose vision is affected by the pain of grief, fever, or headache, and who perceives all forms as if they are enveloped in smoke, is said to be suffering from a condition called "Dhūmadarśī" (smoke vision disorder).

english translation

जिस व्यक्ति की दृष्टि दुःख, ज्वर या सिरदर्द के कारण प्रभावित हो जाती है, तथा जो सभी रूपों को इस प्रकार देखता है जैसे वे धुएं में लिपटे हुए हों, उसे "धूमदर्शी" (धुआं दृष्टि विकार) नामक स्थिति से पीड़ित कहा जाता है।

स ह्रस्वजाड्यो दिवसेषु कृच्छ्राद्ध्रस्वानि रूपाणि च येन पश्येत् । विद्योतते येन नरस्य दृष्टिर्दोषाभिपन्ना नकुलस्य यद्वत् ॥४०॥

The person whose vision is obstructed during the day and who perceives short or unclear forms with difficulty, whose eyesight is dimmed like that of a mongoose affected by a disorder, is said to be afflicted by a condition where the vision is impacted by doshas.

जिस व्यक्ति की दृष्टि दिन में अवरुद्ध हो जाती है और जो छोटी या अस्पष्ट वस्तुओं को भी कठिनाई से देख पाता है, जिसकी दृष्टि विकार से ग्रस्त नेवले के समान मंद हो जाती है, उसे ऐसी स्थिति से ग्रस्त कहा जाता है, जिसमें दृष्टि दोषों से प्रभावित होती है।
