पूर्वोद्दिष्टे पूतिनस्ये च जन्तोः स्नेहस्वेदौ छर्दनं स्रंसनं च । युक्तं भक्तं तीक्ष्णमल्पं लघु स्यादुष्णं तोयं धूमपानं च काले ॥३॥
In the case of the previously mentioned Puti-nasya (discharge from the nose), the application of Sneha (oil or fat) and Sveda (fomentation) should be made, along with the administration of emetics and purgatives. The diet should be light, sharp, and small in quantity. The water for drinking should be warm, and smoke inhalation (Dhuma-pana) should be done at the appropriate time.

Hingu, Vyoṣa, Vatsakākhya, Shivāṭī, Lākṣā, Bīja, Saurabha, Katphala, Ugrā, Kuṣṭha, Tīkṣṇagandhā, Viḍaṅga, and Karanja should be used regularly in Avapida-Nasya.

एतैर्द्रव्यैः सार्षपं मूत्रयुक्तं तैलं धीमान्नस्यहेतोः पचेत । नासापाके पित्तहृत्संविधानं कार्यं सर्वं बाह्ममाभ्यन्तरं च ॥५॥
With these substances, mustard oil mixed with urine should be cooked by a skilled person for the purpose of nasal administration. In cases of Nasa-paka, both internal and external measures should be applied to control Pitta.
