स्निग्धं भुक्तवतो ह्यन्नमुपविष्टस्य यत्नतः । संरोषयेत्तु नयनं भिषक् चूर्णैस्तु लावणैः ॥३॥
After the patient has consumed unctuous food (Sneha-based food) and is carefully seated, the physician should irritate the eye using powders prepared with salts.

जब रोगी स्नेहयुक्त भोजन (स्नेह-आधारित भोजन) खा चुका हो और ध्यानपूर्वक बैठ गया हो, तब चिकित्सक को लवण से तैयार चूर्ण का उपयोग करके आंख में जलन उत्पन्न करनी चाहिए।

ततः संरोषितं तूर्णं सुस्विन्नं परिघट्टितम् । अर्म यत्र वलीजातं तत्रैतल्लगयेद्भिषक् ॥४॥
Thereafter, the eye, which has been irritated, thoroughly fomented, and gently rubbed, should be treated by the physician by applying the procedure at the site where the Arma (polypus or growth) has developed in the folds (of the eye).

अपाङ्गं प्रेक्षमाणस्य बडिशेन समाहितः । मुचुण्ड्याऽऽदाय मेधावी सूचीसूत्रेण वा पुनः ॥५॥
The intelligent physician should secure the growth (Arma) at the Apanga (the outer corner of the eye) as the patient looks in that direction, using a hook (Badisha). It should then be held firmly with a Muchundi instrument or with a needle and thread.

बुद्धिमान चिकित्सक को चाहिए कि जब रोगी उस दिशा में देखे तो अपांग (आँख का बाहरी कोना) पर वृद्धि (आर्म) को हुक (बदिशा) की सहायता से सुरक्षित कर दे। फिर उसे मुचुंडी यंत्र या सुई-धागे से मजबूती से पकड़ लेना चाहिए।
