Excessive indulgence in grief, fear, anger, physical exertion, and exposure to the sun, as well as consumption of pungent, sour, salty, alkaline, sharp, hot, or fiery foods and drinks, can aggravate the condition.

अत्यधिक शोक, भय, क्रोध, शारीरिक परिश्रम, धूप में रहने के साथ-साथ तीखे, खट्टे, नमकीन, क्षारीय, तीखे, गर्म या ज्वलनशील खाद्य पदार्थों और पेय पदार्थों का सेवन करने से स्थिति और बिगड़ सकती है।

नित्यमभ्यसतो दुष्टो रसः पित्तं प्रकोपयेत् । विदग्धं स्वगुणैः पित्तं विदहत्याशु शोणितम् ॥४॥
The constantly aggravated chyle (Rasa) increases Pitta, which, when disturbed, causes the Pitta to burn its own essence, rapidly affecting the blood (Shonita).

ततः प्रवर्तते रक्तमूर्ध्वं चाधो द्विधाऽपि वा आमाशयाद्व्रजेदूर्ध्वमधः पक्वाशयाद्व्रजेत् ॥५॥
Then, the blood may flow upwards from the stomach (Amashaya) or downwards from the intestines (Pakvashaya), or it may flow through both in a dual manner.
