When the blood moves downward, it is treated with emetics, and when it moves upward, it is treated with purgatives. In either case, if the patient is weak, soothing remedies should be used to calm the blood. Both treatments help in controlling the discharge of blood.

In cases where the doshas (bodily humors) have excessively increased, especially in individuals with aggravated red bile (lohitapittina) and weakened strength, muscle tone, or digestive fire (agni), it is important to first perform fasting (apatarpana). This helps in reducing the excess doshas and restores balance before proceeding with further treatment.

After fasting (langhita), the patient should be given a light diet such as a small quantity of rice (tandula) along with medicinal liquids. The liquid should be prepared with substances like wine (sura) and fats (sneh), which are beneficial for nourishment and rejuvenation. Additionally, therapeutic measures like tarpana (nourishing treatments), pachana (digestive treatments), and various lehans (medicinal pastes) and sarpinis (ghee preparations) should be used to promote healing and restore balance.
