धात्रीमात्रोः प्राक्प्रदिष्टापचाराच्छौचभ्रष्टान्मङ्गलाचारहीनान् | त्रस्तान् हृष्टांस्तर्जितान् ताडितान् वा पूजाहेतोर्हिंस्युरेते कुमारान् ||६||

The malignant stars or demons affect children in cases where the conduct of the mother or nurse, as prescribed earlier (in the Sharira-sthana), is not followed. This includes situations where proper rituals and cleanliness are neglected, or where the child is frightened, rebuked, or beaten. These demons appear to cause harm and require proper respect and worship.

The beings, who are omnipresent and of divine nature, cannot be seen by human eyes as they enter the body. After considering their forms, I will describe the signs (lingas) that manifest in the bodies of those afflicted by these beings.

The afflicted child, under the influence of Skanda-Graha, exhibits the following symptoms: the eye is vacant, the body has a smell of injury, and the child shows signs of distress. The eyes are turned, with one eyelid remaining fixed, and there is a disturbance in the gaze. The child may have a tearful and agitated expression, with trembling eyes and clenching of the fists tightly, all indicating the attack of the Skanda-Graha.

The child, under the attack of the Skanda-pasmara, falls into a state of unconsciousness and later regains consciousness with agitation. It exhibits signs of intense restlessness, with the hands and feet moving as though in a dancing motion. The child urinates and passes stool while crying, and foam may appear at the mouth as a result of the convulsive movements, indicating the influence of this particular Graha.

The child, affected by the Shakuni Graha, shows signs of disjointed limbs and is overcome with fear, accompanied by a peculiar bird-like smell. Its body becomes covered with ulcers or vesicular eruptions that burn and eventually suppurate and burst. The skin appears damaged due to the constant inflammation, and the child exhibits a blood-red discoloration of the face. This condition is marked by the child’s severe suffering, and the symptoms point to the influence of the Shakuni Graha.
