विषण्णमनसो देवा हरिं शरणमाययुः । इति तद्दैन्यमालोक्य भगवान् भृत्यकामकृत् । मा खिद्यत मिथोऽर्थं वः साधयिष्ये स्वमायया ।। ८-८-३७ ॥
Thus they sought shelter at the lotus feet of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Hari. When the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who always desires to fulfill the ambitions of His devotees, saw that the demigods were morose, He said to them, “Do not be aggrieved. By My own energy I shall bewilder the demons by creating a quarrel among them. In this way I shall fulfill your desire to have the nectar.” ।। 8-8-37 ॥

उन्होंने जाकर भगवान् हरि के चरणकमलों की शरण ली। अपने भक्तों की मनोकामनाओं को सदा पूरा करने की इच्छा रखने वाले भगवान् ने जब यह देखा कि देवतागण खिन्न हैं, तो उन्होंने उनसे कहा “दु:खी मत होओ। मैं अपनी शक्ति से असुरों में झगड़ा करा कर उन्हें मोहग्रस्त कर लूँगा। इस प्रकार तुम लोगों की अमृत प्राप्त करने की इच्छा मैं पूरी कर दूँगा।” ।। ८-८-३७ ॥
