तैस्तैः स्वेच्छाधृतै रूपैः काले काले स्वयं विभो । कर्म दुर्विषहं यन्नो भगवांस्तत्करोति हि ।। ८-५-४६ ।।

sanskrit

O Lord, O Supreme Personality of Godhead, by Your sweet will You appear in various incarnations, millennium after millennium, and act wonderfully, performing uncommon activities that would be impossible for us. ।। 8-5-46 ।।

english translation

हे भगवान्! आप विभिन्न युगों में अपनी इच्छा से विभिन्न अवतारों में प्रकट होते हैं और ऐसे असामान्य कार्य आश्चर्यजनक ढंग से करते हैं, जिन्हें हम सब के लिए कर पाना दुष्कर है। ।‌। ८-५-४६ ।।

taistaiH svecchAdhRtai rUpaiH kAle kAle svayaM vibho | karma durviSahaM yanno bhagavAMstatkaroti hi || 8-5-46 ||

क्लेशभूर्यल्पसाराणि कर्माणि विफलानि वा । देहिनां विषयार्तानां न तथैवार्पितं त्वयि ।। ८-५-४७ ।।

sanskrit

Karmīs are always anxious to accumulate wealth for their sense gratification, but for that purpose they must work very hard. Yet even though they work hard, the results are not satisfying. Indeed, sometimes their work results only in frustration. But devotees who have dedicated their lives to the service of the Lord can achieve substantial results without working very hard. These results exceed the devotee’s expectations. ।। 8-5-47 ।।

english translation

कर्मीजन अपनी इन्द्रियतृप्ति के लिए सदैव धनसंग्रह करने के लिए लालायित रहते हैं, किन्तु इसके लिए उन्हें अत्यधिक श्रम करना पड़ता है। इतने कठोर श्रम के बावजूद भी उन्हें सन्तोषप्रद फल नहीं मिल पाता। निस्सन्देह ही कभी-कभी तो उनके कर्मफल से निराशा ही उत्पन्न होती है। किन्तु जिन भक्तों ने भगवान् की सेवा में अपना जीवन अर्पित कर रखा है वे कठोर श्रम किये बिना ही पर्याप्त फल प्राप्त कर सकते हैं। ये फल भक्तों की आशा से बढक़र होते हैं। ।। ८-५-४७ ।।

नावमः कर्मकल्पोऽपि विफलायेश्वरार्पितः । कल्पते पुरुषस्यैष स ह्यात्मा दयितो हितः ।। ८-५-४८ ।।

sanskrit

Activities dedicated to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, even if performed in small measure, never go in vain. The Supreme Personality of Godhead, being the supreme father, is naturally very dear and always ready to act for the good of the living entities. ।। 8-5-48 ।।

english translation

भगवान् को समर्पित कार्य, भले ही छोटे पैमाने पर क्यों न किये जाँए, कभी भी व्यर्थ नहीं जाते। अतएव स्वाभाविक है कि परम पिता होने के कारण भगवान् अत्यन्त प्रिय हैं और वे जीवों के कल्याण के लिए सदैव कर्म करने के लिए तैयार रहते हैं। ।। ८-५-४८ ।।

nAvamaH karmakalpo'pi viphalAyezvarArpitaH | kalpate puruSasyaiSa sa hyAtmA dayito hitaH || 8-5-48 ||

यथा हि स्कन्धशाखानां तरोर्मूलावसेचनम् । एवमाराधनं विष्णोः सर्वेषामात्मनश्च हि ।। ८-५-४९ ।।

sanskrit

When one pours water on the root of a tree, the trunk and branches of the tree are automatically pleased. Similarly, when one becomes a devotee of Lord Viṣṇu, everyone is served, for the Lord is the Supersoul of everyone. ।। 8-5-49 ।।

english translation

जब वृक्ष की जड़ में पानी डाला जाता है, तो वृक्ष का तना तथा शाखाएँ स्वत: तुष्ट हो जाती हैं। इसी प्रकार जब कोई भगवान् विष्णु का भक्त बन जाता है, तो इससे हर एक की सेवा हो जाती है क्योंकि भगवान् हर एक के परमात्मा हैं। ।। ८-५-४९ ।।

yathA hi skandhazAkhAnAM tarormUlAvasecanam | evamArAdhanaM viSNoH sarveSAmAtmanazca hi || 8-5-49 ||

नमस्तुभ्यमनन्ताय दुर्वितर्क्यात्मकर्मणे । निर्गुणाय गुणेशाय सत्त्वस्थाय च साम्प्रतम् ।। ८-५-५० ।।

sanskrit

My Lord, all obeisances unto You, who are eternal, beyond time’s limits of past, present and future. You are inconceivable in Your activities, You are the master of the three modes of material nature, and, being transcendental to all material qualities, You are free from material contamination. You are the controller of all three of the modes of nature, but at the present You are in favor of the quality of goodness. Let us offer our respectful obeisances unto You. ।। 8-5-50 ।।

english translation

हे भगवान्! आपको नमस्कार है क्योंकि आप नित्य हैं, भूत, वर्तमान तथा भविष्य की काल सीमा से परे हैं। आप अपने कार्यकलापों में अचिन्त्य हैं, आप भौतिक प्रकृति के तीनों गुणों के स्वामी हैं और समस्त भौतिक गुणों से परे रहने के कारण आप भौतिक कल्मष से मुक्त हैं। आप प्रकृति के तीनों गुणों के नियन्ता हैं, किन्तु इस समय आप सतोगुण में स्थित हैं। मैं आपको सादर नमस्कार करता हूँ। ।। ८-५-५० ।।

namastubhyamanantAya durvitarkyAtmakarmaNe | nirguNAya guNezAya sattvasthAya ca sAmpratam || 8-5-50 ||
