ततः समुद्र उद्वेलः सर्वतः प्लावयन् महीम् । वर्धमानो महामेघैर्वर्षद्भिः समदृश्यत ॥ ८-२४-४१ ॥
Thereafter, gigantic clouds pouring incessant water swelled the ocean more and more. Thus the ocean began to overflow onto the land and inundate the entire world. ॥ 8-24-41 ॥

तत्पश्चात् विशाल बादलों ने झड़ी लगाकर समुद्र के जल को और अधिक चढ़ा दिया। इससे समुद्र बढक़र स्थल के ऊपर बहने लगा और उसने समस्त विश्व को जलमग्न करना आरम्भ कर दिया। ॥ ८-२४-४१ ॥

As Satyavrata remembered the order of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, he saw a boat coming near him. Thus he collected herbs and creepers, and, accompanied by saintly brāhmaṇas, he got aboard the boat. ॥ 8-24-42 ॥

ज्योंही सत्यव्रत को भगवान् का आदेश स्मरण आया त्योंही उसे अपनी ओर आती हुई एक नाव दिखी। तब उसने वनस्पतियों तथा लताओं को एकत्र किया और वह साधु ब्राह्मणों को साथ लेकर उस नाव में चढ़ गया। ॥ ८-२४-४२ ॥

The saintly brāhmaṇas, being pleased with the King, said to him: O King, please meditate upon the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Keśava. He will save us from this impending danger and arrange for our well-being. ॥ 8-24-43 ॥

उन सन्त ब्राह्मणों ने प्रसन्न होकर राजा से कहा : हे राजा! भगवान् केशव का ध्यान कीजिए। वे हमें इस आसन्न संकट से उबार लेंगे और हमारे कल्याण की व्यवस्था करेंगे। ॥ ८-२४-४३ ॥

Then, while the King constantly meditated upon the Supreme Personality of Godhead, a large golden fish appeared in the ocean of inundation. The fish had one horn and was eight million miles long. ॥ 8-24-44 ॥

जब राजा भगवान् का निरन्तर ध्यान कर रहे थे तो प्रलय सागर में एक बड़ी सुनहरी मछली प्रकट हुई। इस मछली के एक सींग था और वह अस्सी लाख मील लम्बी थी। ॥ ८-२४-४४ ॥

Following the instructions formerly given by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the King anchored the boat to the fish’s horn, using the serpent Vāsuki as a rope. Thus being satisfied, he began offering prayers to the Lord. ॥ 8-24-45 ॥

जैसा कि भगवान् पहले आदेश दे चुके थे उसका पालन करते हुए राजा ने वासुकि सर्प को रस्सी बनाकर उस नाव को मछली के सींग में बाँध दिया। फिर सन्तुष्ट होकर भगवान् की स्तुति करनी प्रारम्भ कर दी। ॥ ८-२४-४५ ॥
